Welcome, Wangie!
Well, the size of your first dildo is a very personal matter. It depends on how would you like to use - vaginally or anally. It also can depend on your previous experience with penetration - which size feel good, which are insufficient and which can cause discomfort. It also might be not the matter of length, but of girth - many women would choose a girthy giant over a long and thin one.

Typically, the best size for a dildo beginner would be just a speck above average, with shafts around 7-8 inches in insertable length and 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 in diameter. For example, you can experiment with the Mage - a very classy dildo designed to hit the G-spot. If you fancy something a bit more realistic, and would love some bells and whistles - then Sensualist would be a fantastic pick. The size is a little bit above average, but its functions will definitely be far from average

Hope this helps!

I, too, would say it's very personal. I have some that are quite realistic and some that are not, some that are so large that they are really pure fantasy (or for oral use) and some that are modest but remind me of penis's I once knew.

If I'm being practical, I'd also go for girth over length, but only slightly more girthy than the comfortable real-life versions - I try not to let my eyes get bigger than my... well, you know.

The important thing about length is that, if you're alone, you need enough to hold onto easily outside your body for the way you want to play. I have occasionally gotten something short that I really liked the shape of, but it didn't work well because I couldn't reach it easily by myself.

I also only buy materials than can be thoroughly cleaned. Cleanliness is important to me.

I totally agree about girth, as I already said, for many women stretching to the sides, not stretching deeper is what works best.

Here's our little miracle worker, btw. It's almost 3 inches in diameter and it definitely would take a lot of warm up to take this cutie in, but I'm betting it'll be worth it.

Preaching about the materials - oh, I can do this all day. But I'd rather have our guide speak volumes for me. We have this foolproof little guide that describes the implication of each sex toy material so it makes your task of picking between materials much easier.
