Width is just as important as the length of the dildo. You should find out how much length and girth can your partner take, and get one that your partner's comfortable with. Make sure the dildo's length is slightly longer than what you have in mind, as approximately 1/2 to 3/4 inch of the dildo will be taken up by the harness.

Longer is better, remember you don't HAVE to put the entire length in if your partner doesn't want the whole thing. But you have the option of long or short strokes if you have a long toy.
