My, I think I need your opinion now, maybe my glass is scratched!!!

Contributor: DreamWolf DreamWolf
I have just received the Icicles No. 21 today, and I got startled to see that a tiny thing on the back of the head doesn't come off as I try to wipe it off with my fingers, even try a very gentle, very careful scratch with my nails, hoping it is just something icky on it...

It is extremely tiny and I really had to look very throughly to find it, and I don't dare to force to get it off, haven't washed it too because it is really just out of the box and I am not going to test it today anyway... I hope that it is just something icky and not a scratch, because it does feel like a a scratch, but I am still not entirely sure because it is extremely tiny!

I have heard that one should check glass out as carefully before and after every single use, to be sure it isn't scratched anywhere, because it can harm your inner flesh... (I have a tough craving flesh though, getting it bloody with the rough mating and heavily textured or large toys a lot, and I don't really mind it in that manner...)

Should I send it back right now, or just try to clean it in a special way, or try it, keep it for now? Or ask at a place where such info is available better?

I am really not sure what I should do, especially because I also read reviews on steel dildos where they didn't have a totally perfect surface, and they were still totally safe...

What is your (hopefully correct and helpful) opinion? :S

It's totally ok, such a tiny invisible and not deep at all scratch can't harm you!
Try to clean it this way... (Could you explain in the comment please...?)

Try to scratch just a little harder, I am sure it is just some dirt, even if it is so hard...
Send it back right now!!!

This has happened with me too and I did this... (I would appreciate it immensely if you didn't mind to explain it in your comment...)

I'd try to clean it off in any way I could think. Even a microfracture can cause trouble, so if you really can't get it off, I'd contact customer service and see about maybe having it replaced.

I wouldn't say "right now". But if you receive a product that isn't up to snuff, sending it back and getting a refund, without using it, is always an option if you got it from here.

Yes, it can -- it's a scary thought. I recommend doing something about it as soon as possible.

If it is a small crack, it can grow.

Personally, I would look at it under a magnifying glass so you can get a better idea if whether it is a crack or only a bubble. You could also try rinsing it with some alcohol or other solvent (and then washing with just water afterward, of course!) just in case it is something just dried on.

But if it is a crack, send it back.

If you can wash it off then all is well. If not it's best not to take a chance. If nothing else it could be a small pit/scratch/bubble that could lead to breakage down the road. Better to be safe than sorry.

Send it back just incase. I wouldn't want to put something in my vagina that *might* have a crack.

Brilliant advice, Antipova!

And if you don't have a magnifying glass, you could try a magnifying mirror, if you have one of those. You know, the two-sided makeup mirrors that have one side that is a regular mirror, and the other side magnifies...that should work too.

From how you've described it, I would say it's a crack. It's probably a part of making it - when you've got glass at molten temperatures and you're adding stripes of green to the exterior of the glass for the grass and make the flower...you have to keep the rest of the glass dildo "warm" (by which I mean still very close to molten.) And if the person making it had it out of the fire for a few seconds too many, you get the hairline crack/scratch problem. I know I've had that problem with tiny little glass pendants, so I'm sure it's harder when you're trying to make something as large as a dildo.

End of informative rant. I'd say - Send it back!

Thank you all for your extremely informative answers and comments!!!

Well, blissfully W/we have rubbing alcohol and my Master let me know where I can find it, and I am going to check it out under a magnifying glass and maybe a mirror too just in case!

It looks btw like... Well... Imagine a hundred teeny-tiny kittypaws with hundreds of teeny-tiny kittyclaws, scratching it in the same direction, and the horizontal lines shape a capital T (which is funny because a mirror in O/our H/home has the same capital T, the first letter in my PreciousMaster's Name, I never clean that T off just the rest of the mirror! ), and above it to the right a tiny horizontal line, just a teeny-tiny one... (That's the extremely sad part, if I have to send it back I won't have this special T-ed toy! )

I am going to try a cleaning and let you folks know what happened... Maybe it will inform some people good in this community by the experience of mine reported to you... ~lays ears blushy

I am heartbroken...

Here are the results:

I was already pretty sure that it was a crack because each time I tried to scratch it with my nails it felt like my nails got stuck a little for a moment in it, the scratch feeling shallow, but definitely having some depth to it as I could feel...

I have been trying for 10 minutes or so to rub it off with a paper towel and body-safe alcohol from one of the first aid kits, and I saw no changes at all... I doubt that I did anything wrong, but my, did I? ~frowns worried

I already asked my Master if He didn't mind U/us to send it back for another one when W/we go to town, soon enough hopefully... Looks like I will have to say bye-bye to my specially "marked" and very first, always desired beautiful glass dildo, and welcome a same-looking sister of hers...

Thank you all again for all your help, I hope that things will go smooth with the exchange... ~smiles a little sad
