Hey hope everyone is having a great evening. I've been reading over these forums for a while but this is my first post, because I haven't been able to find an answer a question I have. I just had (what I think is) a pretty straightforward question regarding toys that have texture such as ribbing or studs.

So, imagine that one has two dildos that are exactly the same (size, shape, material, etc.) but one has a ribbed surface. In terms of vaginal sensation, will the one with ribs feel more girthy than the smooth one, or will it just have a different sensation?

It will both feel bigger and have a different sensation! It truly depends on the toy, though, you know? It depends on the texture, where the toy's measured at, things like that.

Sir thank you so much for the response - I really appreciate it! If you and anyone else would be able to further bestow any of their fantastic knowledge/experience to an admitted noob, I was actually wondering specifically about the
Ribbed model. Exactly how much more width would an untextured toy need in order to provide the same feelings of vaginal fullness and stretch as the Ribbed?

It actualy can feel bigger and it can feel more filling as well. The ribs if they are designed well can stimulate the vaginal walls in such a way that you feel fuller and, well...more stimulated that a smooth toy of the same girth. If the ribs are close together it can make the toy feel girthier than a smooth toy of equal girth but if the ribs are spread out more then the sensation is quite different. It can feel like the toy is popping inside or undulating depending on how the toy is designed. Add a corkscrew rib and the sensation is even more different.

The ribs on that toy are fairly close together and would probably not be felt by the vaginal nerves as individual ribs so it would just leave a sensation of fullness. A smooth toy of the same girth would more than likely give the same sort of full feeling but there would be less drag, or popping along the vaginal barrel. If you are wondering how this toy would feel if it were smooth, and you own it, try covering it with a tight rather thick condom and you can approximate how a smooth toy with the same girth would feel.
