I've never heard of that happening under normal use. It's very unlikely to happen at all if you get a good quality one with a good varnish. Of course, soaking it in water might make it split, but the care instructions will specifically say not to do that. Just follow the directions and it'll be fine. Wood is a very safe material when properly varnished.

I agree, if it wasn't a safe toy it wouldn't be on the market.
If it was possible for it to split under normal use, they wouldn't sell it for vaginal insertion.

Thanks, I didn't think it would happen and nor did i plan to use it in the bathtub.. I just wanted to make sure of course and reassure her.
About how long would it be a good idea to replace this type of item?

I wouldn't expect it to ever need replacement unless you mistreated it or it was defective.

I honestly can't help you, but then again, I wouldn't choose a wooden toy. I'm not really scared of it splitting, it's just too out of the ordinary. Hell, I'm still trying to cozy up to the few glass toys my love got me.

Buy a good quality one and keep it clean. Don't let it steep in pools of fluid for ages, because that could cause it to warp.
