Any chance of us getting SMALLER lingerie? Also, hybrid lingerie sizes.

Contributor: Backseat Boohoo Backseat Boohoo
I really love a lot of EF's lingerie, but I'm rarely willing to put any of it on my wish list. Why, you ask? Well, because even the smallest size for most companies is a few inches too big for me on every front.

I'm glad that EF includes plus sized stuff and doesn't expect every woman to be a toothpick, but I AM a tiny woman. I'm a 32B breast, 24 inch waist, 36 inch hip. I don't really see any companies with extra smalls, and many of their smalls are, in my opinion, more along the lines of a medium. It's especially annoying when I want to buy a beautiful corset or a bustier, because I know I'll never get a good fit.

I mean, here's the size chart: link

In just about everything I wear, I'm a small, or a size 4 dress, or a size 7 jean. But here's how I stack up:

Fantasy Lingerie size small: 3-4 inches too large in bust, 2-3 inches too large in waist and hip.
Coquette size small: 2-3 inches too large in bust, 1-2 inches too large in waist and hip.

Even though Leg Avenue and Dream Girl's size charts imply that their smalls would fit me, I'm having a godawful time finding stuff by them that is stocked in smalls. A lot of times, the smallest size available is a medium, or a "small/medium."

I know I'm bitching a lot, but is there any way to get some slightly smaller stuff? I've never felt more unwomanly in my life.

Also, a quick qualm about the hybrid sizes, like "small/medium" and "medium/large." How are those differentiated from the plain sizes on a chart? I can't tell if "SM" is "small" or "small/medium."

I have the opposite problem. I am a 38G breast, and wear size L panties or a 7 if they are sized with a number. I can never find a set to fit me the right way. I usually end up tying a bow in the thongs on the sides IF I can find something that fits up top. The best fitting tops I have found are from torrid and made by jezebel.

I'm a 36 A bust. It sucks hardcore. I'm going to bite the bullet and try out one of the corsets/bustiers anyway and lace it as tight as it can go. If it doesn't fit right, I'll just stuff roses and kittens in the front til it fills out.

I'm so jealous... You can probably go shopping in just about any lingerie store around!

I'm 5'4 with a 38D. It's been both a pain and a blessing.

No, I can't, and that's the problem. That's what this whole post is about. I'm smaller than the average woman; everything is just about too big. I can't shop at Victoria's, Frederick's, or any of the online outfitters. And, as mentioned, even if the company makes sizes that would fit me, they're never stocked by the website.

Again, I'm glad that many companies are being body-positive and are including larger and plus sizes, but smaller women are still women, and we like nice lingerie, too.

I'm on the larger size too but have some friends who are so small they can't find anything. There is no "average" size anymore! Good luck finding things!

I feel your pain... pretty thongs generally are too big and I purposely shrink them so I can wear it. Plus Victoria's and Frederick's don't stock my size - well no store in the states does - because I'm a 32D and apparently that's not 'common' enough.

You're not uncommon though and you should have more choice. Hopefully it will happen.

I also want to know about the hybrid sizing, it gets confusing.

Oh and BB try overseas shops (online) they tend to stock smaller sizes. Especially Italy and Australia. I tend to love Elle McPherson and Kylie just because of that.

I just wrote a whole response and my internet died! Well, in any case, what I said was...

Most stores carry your size. You might be "smaller than average," but you're not so small that things do not fit. I am sure that both Victoria's Secret AND Frederick's has 34B sizes and sizes to fit your body. My partner has a 30B breast size and a pear shaped body, but everything that I've gotten from Edenfantasys, in a size small, has fit her wonderfully. They should fit you too.

I don't even try with lingerie. I'm a 32DD, and I've found maybe two bras ever in that size under $100.

"They should fit you too."

At the risk of sounding sensitive, that sounds a bit accusatory. I'm glad that your partner can fit her lingerie, but just because she's also small doesn't mean that our bodies are the same. I am not pear-shaped, for example, I have an hourglass figure, so my body is proportioned differently. I need relatively exact measurements in small sizes to fit lingerie comfortably. And yes, I have been to VS and Frederick's; their stuff is too big, and even if it wasn't, I couldn't afford it.

You don't know me, so it's a bit off to say that I am definitely not something. Because I can tell you right now, the average medium sold here at EF would not fit me, which is why I asked for more small sizes in this post.

I wasn't meaning to sound that way at all, I was just telling you based solely on the measurements you gave. 34B breast is very common, as is an hourglass shape like you've just described. In any case though, I apologize for coming across that way.

I understand what you mean if you're saying that the medium is too big but the small is too small. Then that's a different story completely from what you originally posted, and it would have made more sense if you had said that. If that's not the case though, most of their clothes on this site do come in a size small that should fit you.

I'm not a 34B.

The issue is more that EF never stocks the smalls, even if they are an appropriate size.

Strange as this may sound, if you have a Chinatown near you, you might try to see if you can find a (brick and mortar) lingerie store there. I had a Chinese friend who was a 30AA who bought all of her lingerie in our Chinatown, because the clothing stores there usually assume much smaller sizes. When I was a 32C-ish with 35" hips, I had to buy a dress size XXXL, and they stocked all the way down to what they called XS. I can't guarantee that you'll have better luck there, but you may have a better shot at finding the right size of lingerie!

Also, I would just like to note that an actual hourglass figure is not common at all; it's actually the rarest of the 4 female body shapes. A lot of women claim to have an hourglass figure, but don't actually have the pre-requisite 3:2:3 (+10 - 0 - +10) measurements without enhancing their breasts or shrinking their waists.

That actually makes sense, since Eastern Asian people tend to be on the smaller side. Yet another reason to move to the east coast, LOL!

I just wish lingerie companies were more sympathetic to the plights of petite women. A company that came out with petite and plus-sized lines alongside their regular line-up would really impress me.

Chinese clothing stores confound me. Every time I shop for clothes in China, I have to look for the large or XL/XXL clothes, even though I wear a size S/M by most standard US brands. This bums me out because all the cute clothes are in their size S/M... which is what I would call XXS/XS.

Umm... but anyway. BB, do you also have this problem with more "adjustable" lingerie? I can see exact measurements being a problem for, say, a bustier with hook-and-eye closures or a teddy. But what about lingerie that is more free flowing, that ties or laces up? It seems that it would be a little easier to get a more adjusted/closer fit with those types of lingerie. Maybe things like body stockings would be less problematic too?

I do think it's time that EF looked into stocking lingerie that specializes in smaller sizes. Lula Lu specializes in petite lingerie, and they carry your size link .

It's definitely more of a problem with the stuff I really like, like corsets and bustiers. But looking in to more flowy things is a great idea!

And I loooove Lula Lu! Expensive though it is, I've heard it's worth every penny.

I accidentally clicked back and it took me to another page, so it deleted my post.

What I basically said was that I apologize for misreading, and that a 32B is pretty small. But aside from that completely, Victoria's Secret really isn't expensive when compared to Edenfantasys, though I will say that their bras (though better fitting and higher quality) are very expensive. I bought a teddy for my partner from VS that was $19, and it was pure silk (though it was marked off from $30, still shows that it's higher quality, same price). You may just want to really look around the store if you have one near you. Going directly to the store is better than buying online - they have more things on sale. Target is also nice, and has started carrying sexier lingerie for women, and in size 32B, so you might want to try there if you have one near you.

I didn't know that about the percentages, though I personally have seen more women with hourglass figures than with any of the other types listed (though there are more than just four). But in that article that you sent me, it did say that they still size to the general hourglass figure.

In any case, I suggest trying Target (unless you're opposed to that), because they have sexy and cute things, perhaps going to Victoria's Secret rather than checking out the website (because the sales on the website are for the most part not helpful), and maybe trying other websites. There are a couple of other websites out there with the same dress-up stuff that Edenfantasys carries(if that's what you're looking for), though I personally prefer Edenfantasys because they're more on top of things and are more reliable.

Have you ever checked out Braserie Dearie? I've never been there, but my two DDD friends swear by them, and I may be stopping in there when I take a trip up to Erie with them: link

Expensive, but purportedly worth every penny.

I have been to VS. VS is ruled out; it is a no-go, whether on-site or online. Same goes for Frederick's. And while VS may have some pieces cheaper, EF usually has the fancier sets that I like for a more reasonable price.

An hourglass shape has specific figures and ratios that go with it. Being curvy does not an hourglass make. I'm not at all saying that an hourglass figure is better than other body shapes, because it isn't, but again, it's more than just having a waist that is slightly smaller than your bust and hips.

I have a similar problem to you. I'm a 40DDD/F, depending on the brand, and I can *never* find something to fit me. Plus, I've noticed that EF doesn't seem to carry a wide variety of plus sized lingerie. It's a pity.

I know this sounds squiffy, but check out the underwear section of the children's department of a major department store (Macy's, etc). While working at one, I was shocked to discover that manufacturers were making 'sexy underwear' for ten year old girls - I mean lace panties and padded bras. (My stomach turned every time I had to stock that area.) But I did find out that a lot of extra-petite women shopped in the children's section because 'regular petite' was just too big for them.

I hope this helps a little bit in your quest. If worse comes to worse, you might just have to enlist the help of a seamstress friend to alter the regular petite clothes for you. (I don't know how many corsets and bustiers I had to alter during my Rocky Horror days for the cast members, so it can be done.)

I think your hips are a few inches bigger than mine and that might be about it. I'm 5'2, and I've found that height does play a lot into how well the lingerie fits.

I've had a couple that fit really well, some that were too small, and some that were way off, and having a smaller cup size also means that pretty much nothing gives you cleavage.

Personally I might try some of the 2-piece sets from Leg Avenue. They seem to cater more towards smaller framed women in my opinion.

I TOTALLY FEEL YOUR PAIN backseat boohoo! I'm tiny. I wear a size 0 jeans, a 32A or B, and NOTHING fits. The only place I can buy lingerie is usually Victora's Secret, and not all the time. Every once in a while they'll make things in a 32, but mostly their sexy things stop at 34 B. SOME of these things look alright on me, but not always. I've spent hours at my local fredericks trying on everything that claims to be an XS or a small cup size. Usually it'll fit alright around the waist and hips, but when it comes to the breasts it just looks ridiculous. I LOVE sexy lingerie but it's so depressing to try and find things that fit. I can NEVER find a corset that fits properly, without having to pay like 400 dollars that is. I've looked in expensive lingerie boutiques, and been able to find my size, but I'm definitely not ready to put that much money into a piece of lingerie. It would be so nice to be able to buy inexpensive lingerie and be confidant about the fit! Without having to get giant breast implants.

I realize this is a year old but I hope your problem has been solved. Coquette and Fantasy Lingerie run slightly large or true to size so a small might not fit you but the other companies should. If you need any help choosing something or finding things in stock let me know, I have huge presorted wishlists for this purpose.

So, I have similar measurements (32B, 25" 36") and I've never had anything be too big (save for one teddy). I've actually had a few things that were too SMALL. (For the record, I wear size small shirt and a size 26 or 27 pant (about a size 5, though some 3's fit). I actually find this a bit odd that you have such a hard time finding stuff that fits, especially at VS and Frederick's, where their stuff runs small. Most of the corsets I've tried on at Frederick's are waaaaaay too small in the bust, but fit fine everywhere else. Weird how our bodies could be similar measurements yet we have the exact opposite problem.

You sound like my body twin, Fanny!

Granted this is an old post, and you may have found someplace GREAT by now...but I wear a similar bra size and have decent luck at Victoria's Secret. Most styles do go down to a 32A, but sometimes I have to poke around a bit or even order online if they don't have my size on the shelf.

Also, have you tried Aerie? They have really cute styles that go down to a 32AA, and I can very easily find my size there since they don't seem to stock much that is larger than a C or so.

I have the same problem! I'm an extra small or small and lingerie is almost ALWAYS too big! I did get several orders this month though from companies THAT DO have sizes for women like us. I'm a size zero in jeans and a lot of times, zeros are still way too big. I started shopping in the kids section I hate that because the kid's section is always too small in the bust but fits well everywhere else.

Anyways, here are the companies that I've ordered from within the past 4 months and have gotten a perfect size:

Kinky Intentions = DEAD ON! Only one thing, I just got a skirt and bra set that's pink and blue and the bra has a lace up type deal (gorgeous!) but the skirt was sadly a bit too big. I also got a white silky dress that has beautiful silver lining and a unique back in it. It came with a short cute silver skirt. It fit amazingly well! It's only a small and fit perfectly, but it's so stretchy that my sis can wear it and she's a large and it still fits amazing on the both of us.

I also got a corset. Not sure of the brand, but it's the second corset I'VE bought there & it fit so damn well! They are the only one's that fit me! It's got a great deal of adjustment too.

Also, I just purchased several different things from link and they were some of the best fitting pieces I've ever had. Every single item fit perfectly.

Also, there's a site called cybernooky that is owned by the same person that owns fantasiesinlace and I would assume they have well fitting sizes there too since the fantasies in lace did.

Also, just this week I got a club dress from Rave Attic. Fits like a damn dream! Right now, I think Rave Attic.com is only running small sizes so jump on that now! The lovely woman who owns Rave Attic is working on getting more items in stock, but if you are like me and like the unique and colorful kind of lingerie in SMALL not large, then you would probably like Rave Attics stuff. I don't think I've found many things on that site that I don't have on my wish list. She'll have much more up soon though. You should definitely try there.

Feeling USA is another company that does pretty well in sizing. They have such a huge variety of clothing though so I can't comment on everything, but the corset I got from there is my FAVORITE corset I've ever owned. Not sure, but I think the coquette items there run rather baggy in the bust too. Their dresses, and bustiers are perfect for smaller women. I've never had any that didn't make me feel stunning.

Hope some of this was helpful. They are my top places for shopping since I'm in the same boat as you and hate spending money on beautiful pieces that just aren't small enough. It's such a disappointment.
