I got my first set of thigh highs and garter belts. I got a crotchless thong with garters and a dress type of thing with garters. It took me about an hour to get the garters fastened to the stockings!! What a work-out. I understood how to get them connected, but it seemed like it was very hard. Any tips?

I really need to make that picture tutorial on how to hook garters, because it seems everyone under the age of 30 had never been taught. (I learned how while attending The Rocky Horror Picture Show at fifteen.)
The best I can offer right now is not to hook the stocking band at the top edge, that's a given that it'll slip off. Try to hook more towards 1/3 down or the middle of the band.

I was going to write an article and do a tutorial about this about 2 years ago. I lost it in early production.
Make sure the tops of your stockings are not "stay up by themselves" type or even lace tops. These are hard if not impossible for a newbie to get into the garters. Use "regular welt" (top) stockings. Hold the stocking top and insert some cloth into the "keyhole" of the garter holder. Push the plastic button through the pull down. DO NOT use garter belts that have plastic garter holders. They will NOT hold up stockings for more than a few minutes. Insist on metal "keyholes" although plastic buttons are fine, as long as they work.
The first few times I used stockings and garters I attached the stockings to the garters first them put them on like pantyhose. I got better at it as I use them more after a few months could attach the stocking while I was wearing the garter belt.
The higher quality the hardware of the garter, the easier it will be to attach and hold the stocking. Plastic garter "keyholes" are completely useless. You need metal on that part of the garter.
