I was thinking today how it's so tempting for me to just throw my bras in the washer, even though I know they will last longer if I do them by hand. It's SO annoying though. So, how do you wash your bras?

I put my lingerie in a nylon mesh bag, before throwing them into the machine, then let then line dry.

It depends on how delicate they are. If it's just a simple all cotton bra, then I'll throw it in the washer and dryer. If it's a delicate one with lace/mesh then I hand wash and hang it up to dry.

Put them in the washing machine but let them air dry.

I air dry unless I am in a hurry and it just goes in the dryer. also I hand wash some of my nicer fancy stuff.
11/25/2011
I wash them by hand so they'll last as long as possible.

i hand wash and hang up in the bathroom to dry. when i did put older ones in the washer, they tended to lose their shape more quickly.

Hand wash, so the padding does not change shape.

I don't have anything made of lace or anything like that, so I do machine washing and drying. They've lasted a good three years and stayed in good condition, and only recently have the straps begun to loosen.

My regular, everyday bras get thrown in with the rest of the laundry. No special care.
The more expensive and fancier bras I will hand wash, if they get dirty.

I just put them in the washing machine and let them air dry,if I owned more expensive bras though I'd be more careful and put them in a pillow case when running them through the wash machine

I'm too lazy to hand wash, all mine go in the machine for a thorough cleaning. Never had any issues with them.
I hang them on the line to dry.

I put them in a mesh lingerie bag and then machine wash/dry. No issues since then. I had beat-up bras before I invested in a bag though.

I put them in a lingerie bag in the machine. I used to always wash them by hand, but since we got a front loading washing machine I've been throwing them in there, and haven't had any problems. I still let them airdry though.

I'm really lazy about it. All of my bras are machine washed and dried, even the expensive ones. The nice ones don't need to get washed all that often though so they will still last me 2-3 years before the wires start popping out.

I wash by hand in the sink with a mild soap then I put them on a drying rack. My kids make jokes because the drying rack is in our spare bedroom/sewing room. My kids call it "The Braw Drying Room." (Why "braw" I don't know. They think pronouncing it this way is hilarious.)
Sometimes I will put them into a mesh bag and wash, then take them out and dry them on the rack. I never put my bras in the dryer.

I handwash just to be safe. Then I hang them up to dry and I make sure to hang them where my boyfriend will see them.

I have always washed my bras in the machine. I've never had much time to hand wash much, though I am very careful what I wash them with. I also line dry them, learned in my earlier preteens the damage a dryer can do.

Machine. I don't wear padded bras and only own one padded bra and haven't ever had problems with machine washing. I use the super cheap, but really pretty bras too! Lol.

For me, it depends. Sometimes I'm lazy and will throw them all in the washing machine. Other times, I'll take the time to hand wash.

If they lose shape easily, I will just hand wash them. I haven't had one that loses shape easily in quite a while, though, so they just go through the washer and dryer, sometimes in a mesh bag. The ones I have now aren't the best or most comfortable bras, so I don't really care about them having an extra long life.

I'm ridiculously lazy when it comes to my laundry, so everything gets washed in the machine and dried in the dryer. I may have ruined a piece here or there, but nothing that I can really think of off the top of my head. For the most part, my bras have come out just fine.

I have a mesh bag that I use for my new bras, but when they get older, I dont bother
01/16/2012
Washer and dryer. It's usually fine, but if I wash them in the washer at my parent's house, their machine bends the underwires every time.
01/16/2012
Depends on the bra normally but I will sometimes just throw them into the washer and dryer if I don't have the time
01/16/2012
I have 1 sports bra and one plain cotton bra. Neither of which really requires special washing/drying. I just toss them in the washer and dryer with the rest of the laundry.

I throw mine in a mesh lingerie bag, and put them in the washer (generally on the delicate or hand wash cycle on my machine). Then I drip dry them.
