Some times, I like to buy a new lingerie for my wife. In many times I found a sexy teddy, body stocking, bra set, babydoll, ets.. but in BLACK or Darak colors
In fact I found in many shops that (Dark) is the dominant lingeries colors.

I don't like lingeries in black or Dark colors, I don't find it sexy or attractive. So for what reason shops offer them more? Do Women like lingeries in Dark colors rather than other Light Colors? Or it is Men choise?

For that I want to make a vote for both men and womene to find out which of them affect the choice of lingerie's color in markets.

Just for an example:
Now I count the items at Teddy and Bodystocking section at EF, I found that:
66 (73%)items in Black and Dark colors
24 (27%)items in lighter colors.

and at Babydolls and chemises section:
95 (64%) items in black and dark colors
53 (36%) items in Lighter colors

I hope the voters show their opinions and feelings about the colors they like.

I voted for dark colors here, but mostly because my favorite lingerie sets are made in black. I rarely see anything quite so elegant and nice in other colors.
I guess, part of the reason for dark lingerie to be so popular might be the fact that dark colors are very slimming.

I like it in a variety of colors, including (but not limited to) black and dark colors. One of my man's favorite pieces I own is actually white.

There wasn't an option for me in the poll: I like light and dark colors equally, so I didn't vote.

I'm really fair so I tend to go for darker colors with everything. Lighter colors usually make me look washed out.

Wow ...
All you ladies voted for Dark colors.. so no doubt that shops offer it more than light colors.

Some ladies said it shows her more slim. Any other reasons for the relation between colors and the Psychic of women?

Red usually represents sex and black is slimming so...I'm thinking that's the rational behind the darker colors. I like them honestly because I don't really look great in light colors although I do like white.

Black is such a sexy colour. It's classic and flattering on most all women.

I don't look nearly as good in lighter colours either. It's kind of difficult to match lingerie in lighter colours than it is to match a wardrobe filled with black, I find.

I think the lighter colors tend to scream "chaste" or "innocent", where as the dark tend to be more "sultry". Personally, when I'm getting ready to F my man silly, I don't want him worried that I'm shy and virginal. I think we both know that's not the case

My girl is a fiery redhead with fair skin, and looks amazing in darker colors. But it doesn't really matter that much to me, if she wears light or dark. - I know she likes different colors, depending on mood.

I have a little question I am sure every one will ask. Why are Bridal lingeries in (White)!!!

Is it because of the ocasion it self (White = happy)? Or because it shows the beauty of the woman?

I'm a women and I like dark colors. I like them more because they look better on my skin. I do like to throw some color in, and I'll get something that isn't too dark. If I had to choose though, I'd go for a black or darker color.

In my earlier post I went over that very briefly.

Basically,bridal lingeries are in white because white reflects chastity, virtue, virginity, etc. You used to only want to marry a virgin. If you check out the wiki (link), there's a whole bunch of information about why brides wear X, including color

Black is my favorite. Dark colors like black, dark blue, purple, or red just seem hotter to me. Baby blue/white/light colored lingerie seems like it doesn't flatter a womens figure sometimes, especially a light skinned lady. I am light skinned and when I wear light colors it just doesn't look good.

my wife also a light skinned and slim, but I become amazed when she wear a light color babydoll or bikini. I don't feel any thing about the dark colors, and may be I am the only one at EF who like only light lingerie colors.

I made some search about the cause of that, I will quote here the sentence I found about the people who like white lingerie color:

"Some guys like white lingerie, but it should be snowy white, not dirty or pale white. White hue has always symbolized innocence.
Women used to wear only white lingerie because each had just one partner in her live – her husband."

My girl is fair skinned - so the contrast with black works great - in light colors it looks like white-wash!

lingerie doesn't need an s; it's a plural subject already...

i like pink best because I'm a girlie girl. I don't really care for black because it's overdone and a cliche (i think). I guess I can see the "black makes you look skinnier" thing, but since I already have a 26 inch waist, I'm not too worried about looking thinner.

I do love darker colors a tiny bit more, they are much sultrier, though I have some light colored, flirty, girly lingerie too. Light just represents feminine to me, and I am at times so it's a must have in my lingerie drawer too.

the beauty of nature is based only on light colors, pink, white and yellow flowers & light green grass & red roses & blue sky & white clouds & orange Sun .. Just I hope any lady here to imagine her self stand between these colors And wooow you will feel your self a part of that amazing nature..

In contrast to light colors, Dark colors makes you stand in dark night at stormy sky with no Moon up there.. How would you be a visible?
