Ladies, when's the last time that you were properly fitted for a bra?

I have really small breasts. My mom made me wear a bra when I was 11, but she only enforced the rule for a few months and eventually gave up. I haven't worn an actual bra since then. I've never been fitted before.

I generally get my fitting at department stores like Nordstrom or Bloomingdales. Nordstrom especially has a good selection of DD+ bras, I wear a 32(6D). I love that they carry so many different brands/styles that fit me. Their specialists are very patient, I once tried on about 20 different style from different brands.

I find little boutique that carries more high end bras can be somewhat snobby. There's one on Michigan avenue that's like that. Apparently Oprah shops for her bra there, and they weren't very nice to me.

I tend to buy 1 or 2 things I really love at fittings. Then wait for the rest to go on sale. I normally find Freya/Chantelle bras on sale at 50% off the original price at Nordstrom rack.

I used to do all my bra shopping at VS, and I hated it. Now I love it.

It's been about 2 years for me but I just figured since I haven't gained or lost weight I didn't need to do it all the time.

I was fitted about a year ago. It actually helped me out because it let me know what my size was. Turns out I was buying bras that were way too small for me.

I've been fitted by a pro a few times in my life, including after my breast reduction surgery a few years ago. I've educated myself about proper fit & feel I don't need any help now.

I spent so much money on bras as my chest kept growing, that I didn't wear any of them for very long before having to change sizes again. After the reduction, the growth has slowed, but they are still getting bigger. I just measure myself & look into my collection from before & find what I need. I never got rid of them because they were so expensive & practically new, I just couldn't do it; it's paying off for me now.

I saw you offer to someone else and I would LOVE it if you could PM me some recommendations of where to buy online. The shape & spacing of my breasts was altered after the surgery, so I would like to find some that will give me side support, something I never needed before plus I have a few comfort issues. I'm mostly housebound, so it's much easier for me to buy online, plus I detest the snotty salespeople in the stores around here & refuse to give them my business.

I don't blame you! I can't imagine wanting the discomfort of underwires if they're not absolutely necessary. Personally, I'm more comfortable having them, but that doesn't mean that they're actually objectively comfortable, haha.

There are some great places that do free fittings, and I am sure that if you did a bit of research on boutiques in your area, you could find one or even a few that offer such a thing. Another option is an online fitting (like the one found [https://www.butterflycollection.ca/skype-bra-fittings/|here), some of which are free as well, and you wouldn't even have to leave the comfort of your own home. =)

About three months ago, but I will never get fitted again. I trust myself more than fitters, who have never put me in the correct size. Stores don't carry my size so they'll try to sell me anything, no matter how poorly it fits. I buy all of my bras online.

Yeah, that's why I was so down on VS and LaSenza, because they are notorious for trying to make you fit into their size range. Mind you, I've experienced the same with boutiques that stop at G or don't carry anything smaller than a 32 in their higher sizes. It's totally depressing.

I've never been fitted, although I think I did do a great job finding out my specific size.

I started getting fitted when I was about fourteen or so, when my breasts were a decent size. Then when I hit fifteen they went from a B to a DD within a year. Puberty was brutal on me. Being almost twenty now I'm relatively the same size in everything as I was then.

Yeah, I went from flat and braless to a C cup within the beginning and end of seventh grade, so I know what you mean. I didn't stop there, though. Somewhat unfortunately for my sports career.

That's a smart idea - even if you're not professionally fitted, knowing your measurements is pretty helpful if you follow a good fitting guide.

I've been to VS, but nowhere professionally.
