I've had this discussion with my friends before. Some of them love to get lingerie from their man and others say "No way, I'd rather pick it out myself so I know it fits." What do you guys prefer? Get it as a gift, or get it yourself?

Its a sweet thought, but I think we'd both be disappointed if it didn't fit. I also find it more fun for me to 'gift' it, as a surprise, than to receive it. Of course I would adore his effort, but it isn't rely on it for new lingerie. I love it too much for that.

I don't mind either way, but when he's bought me things, it can't be a surprise, because I need to look at it and tell him which size I'd be. (Especially things from Eden, I'll need to check the size charts to make sure it'll fit me.) But I really enjoy buying it as a gift for him, and then surprising him with it!

I prefer to pick it out myself, but it's fun to go pick things out together sometimes or try things on and then if they know what fits, buy you one as a gift.

I prefer picking it out myself than having him involved in the process of selection. It makes wearing it even more of a turn on for my partner because it is new, he has never seen it before. So it makes things more exciting. But really, he is turned by anything I wear lol, I am so lucky

Since a lot of lingerie is "one size fits most" anyway, and because my size is usually smack in the middle of medium, there's a reasonably good chance that most anything brought home would fit me.
I would definitely prefer getting lingerie as a gift---that way, I know it will be something that turns him on. In general I always hate picking out my own clothing anyway (thank goodness for basic clothes that don't try to make statements), but with lingerie I would be even more self-conscious.
Not self-conscious about my body; just self-conscious about my lack of fashion know-how.

I'm like Antipova and pretty much all of the "one size fits most" stuff will fit me, as well as most smalls and the occasional medium. But "small" is usually a safe bet with sizing here. So knowing that, my husband could easily go out and get me something and I'd wear it so long as it fit. That being said however, he usually prefers that I pick it out because he likes getting the surprise.

It's not that a gift wouldn't be very thoughtful and sexy, but I would just rather pick out my own most of the time- with some input from my SO- because I know what I like and what looks flattering on me.

Being pretty thin with very small breasts, I don't fit into a lot of lingerie properly and/or find it flattering for my shape. I would definitely want to buy my own to make sure I was picking something out that would work for me and probably try it on beforehand.
