I don't think asking "why" is ever a dumb question.

If he was proclaiming that you could not get more, then that would be rude. But since he phrased his question in a way that let you give an answer ("because I like a lot of variety!" for example), it wasn't a dumb question. It's legitimate for your partner to try to understand your motivation.

Personally, I'm not that big into lingerie (or clothing at all, really) but my partner said I should get some. I asked him why---and he explained why it turns him on---so then I was able to share his enthusiasm and get some. If you include your husband in your excitement, then you'd *both* want you to have more.

Two is definitely not enough in my opinion. I like to have variety and wouldn't want to wear the same two outfits over and over. I have at least 30 things from Eden, not to mention all the stuff from other places. And I still have 50 things on my lingerie wishlist. I am planning on getting another dresser for it all though, so I might be reaching the point of too much lol But my boyfriend has never complained about it, and is thrilled every time I get something new.

I actually asked something similar when my best friend was starting to get back into lingerie. She explained that it made her feel sexy and that she enjoyed it, and I feel like I understand it a bit better now. It's not an urge I share and I wasn't trying to censor- I just didn't get the need for more.

You've all made great points. Thanks for helping me see why he asked. I guess I want more lingerie is because before I felt like I was to fat to have any. I have lost 117 in the past 7 months. I went from size 3x/4x to a size Medium in 7 months. Now that I have put on lingerie and I feel sexy for the first time in my life I want to get more the clothing that makes me feel sexy.

I constantly encourage my wife to buy more lingerie and often give it as a gift. Sometimes for my birthday or Father's Day I simple ask her to get some new lingerie!

I've been married for 32 years and never really been much into lingerie after our first couple of years of marriage.

But that was partly because my husband wasn't into it - so I figured "why bother?"

Since our "sexual revolution" a few weeks ago where we started adding toys, I realized that I needed some sexy lingerie for ME! I'm a large woman (22/24) and I so rarely felt like a woman.

Now - my husband sees my excitement when I'm in something pretty and he runs his hand along my back and shoulders so I can feel the material against me and he realizes that the feeling of the lingerie against my skin is very sensual for me - much like petting a cat and watching it arch its back and purr.

He has since asked me to just be careful and not spend more than we can afford on lingerie (and on toys).

Some men (and women, I'm sure) are just of that mindset of "I have a pair of shoes, they fit, why would I need another pair of shoes?" so it's hard for them to understand those of us that fall into the "Should I pack brown AND black boots for my 2 day trip?" category.

Are you saying that there isn`t anything of his that you think he has too much of?

UPDATE: I did explain to my husband how lingerie made me feel and he does understand now why I want more than 2 pieces.

We even picked me out a piece together for his free review this month.

I don't think it's a dumb question either. He was genuinely puzzled, because his brain works differently from yours, and he wanted to understand yours. My man does that occasionally, starts asking questions that could seem strange, but he always says: "I just want to get inside that mind and see exactly how it works." It's really sweet actually.

I can understand his question. It's like things that are important to guys and we can't understand it.... they often don't understand our obsessions.

My Master doesn't understand lingerie at all and has no desire to see it on me. Give him skin and he is thrilled!
