Sheer lingerie? Yay or nay

Contributor: 12345678 12345678
Do you like sheer lingerie? Personally, I feel more confident when wearing opaque fabrics. I'm sure there's some people who are the opposite, but I'm wondering what the general consensus is here. It seems that a good portion of EF's chemises and babydolls are sheer.

I voted waffles because I'm neither here nor there.

I think sheer can be really sexy when it's in the right places, but there have been several times when it's really bothered me.

For instance, I really don't care for sheer panties, particularly where you can clearly make out my ass crack, just because I think it looks weird aesthetically. It's like it puts weird shadows or something, idk. The worst though, is when the tag is clearly visible through the sheer fabric. That bothers me to no end, and I've never understood why they don't put the tag in a place where it won't be seen if the fabric is sheer.

Other than stuff like that, though, I don't have a problem with sheer fabric at all. I tried on a corset style top that had silk type panels on the front and back and a mesh on the sides and how it was cut and designed was really sexy to me. Just enough Peekaboo.

Almost all of the outfits I've received from EF have been sheer or fishnet. It's my personal preference. I like the way it looks on me and so does my husband! And I painstakingly cut off all the tags.

I like it in certain pieces but it depends on how it's done. Generally I am a fan of sheer materials in my lingerie, but I agree that it can look strange on certain pieces or in certain places.

I like when there is a mix of both. I agree with Cherrylane, sheer can be sexy when in the right places. I own a lot of panties that are sheer and opaque mixed and I love them...just adds a peeking factor to certain areas.

I voted "Waffles" because they are delicious.

Just kidding! I voted that because I'm of the "Other" opinion. I like opaque mostly because I'm a chubby girl and slightly self-conscious. But sheer can look nice in certain places. I don't think I've ever wear something entirely sheer unless the color was dark, like black, and hid better than lighter colors.

I like Opaque but you could add some sheer fabric to it because I can see how it is seductive.

I like parts to be sheer but some parts be opaque! I personally prefer a bit less sheer cups but a more sheer material for the body of whatever I'm wearing

If you are confident then sure, why not? But for me I just don't think I would feel comfortable.

There have only been a select few times where I've been happy with something being sheer. For the most part I'd much rather have my pieces be opaque.

I like sheer because then my tattoos can be seen through the garment, but I have had several amazing pieces be opaque

For me it depends on the overall piece. I just got one that is slightly sheer and I am a bit nervous for it, but excited because it is not fully sheer.

It really depends on the cut and style. Some types look great sheer, others would look really stupid if they didn't have an opaque feature to them!

Sheer is usually made of poorer material. When I buy lingerie, I usually drop a lot of money on it, so sheer is usually out of the question.

That's true, too. The mesh tends to snag and run and ugh.

it all depends on the piece and what looks good on her.

Do you like waffles? Yeah I like waffles... I also like shear if the lingerie has proper cup support with the exception for robes.

I love both opaque and sheer, but lately I have been getting more sheer lingerie. I do like sheer items with opaque cups at very least so there is some skin showing but the nips are covered.

I prefer opaque because I'm not in the best shape of my life and I feel much more confident either covered up or fully nude
