I only throw them out if they are blood-stained beyond salvation. [Usually peroxide gets out blood stains.]

Sometimes I use them to clean.

But if they are hardly worn [and I can't return them], I donate them to a thrift store.

I just toss them out. I've considered selling my used panties online, but then I get paranoid about doing it.

LOL After reading this thread, I'm never buying panties again. Or at least, not without sterilizing them in some seriously hot water and vinegar before wearing them. Sheesh, some of the stories here are kinda scary.

I'd sell them. I'd sell each and every pair for $20. There's one adult site where the guys would go NUTS (pun intended) over this.

I love panties. I just bought another 10 from La Senza (they were $30 for the lot - I couldn't resist!). I have a rule of not keeping any that I'd be embarrassed of, so all the old ones are in a bag somewhere in my closet, safe from prying eyes. For periods I have a ton of black (or black-crotched) boyshorts/bikinis from Aerie, because they're comfortable and don't show stains if any happen. And they're not ugly, either!

I toss my old ones.

Before my hysterectomy, I threw out all my underwear and bought new. It felt good to do that for some reason.

It depends on what is wrong with them as to what I do with them. If they are a little big, I will just wear them when I am on my period so I don't feel bad if I accidentally spill blood on them. If they have a lot of holes or are too stretched out, I throw them out. I used to have a ton of smaller underwear I kept for when I actually would be able to fit into them, which I have moved to wearing all the time now.

I kept them for years, but I'm a hoarder. Finally had a clean out of 15 years worth of underwear and it was worth it!

I toss mine out when it's time to get new ones, but I also have a few old pairs that I always wear when I have my period that way I don't mind tossing them out if I leak. I also really like the idea of bringing them on vacation and leaving them so you don't have to bring them home.

I usually keep the ones that are too small for me in a bag after I wash them and give them to someone.

I've got a new idea. I have a bunch of really pretty or fun panties that are NOT used up, but I don't know any ladies who would accept a gift of used panties and I don't have the time to sell them. So I'm making a panty-garland for my bedroom. I'm tying them together and hanging them from the ceiling like streamers. My college roommate did something like this once and it was pretty funny. Anybody who is in my bedroom knows I'm a weirdo anyway, and it will make me smile whenever I'm in there.

Old panties that still fit but are ugly become period panties. If they don't fit, are itchy, or uncomfortable, they go to the garbage. I just can't see myself dusting the house with them or turning them into a quilt!

when I buy them I always wash them first. I'd never wear panties that someone else had....and I always throw mine out when they're no good anymore
