does lube really help protect you from bacteria? what?

I've never heard anything about this benefit of helping to protect you from bacteria. Does anyone have anything to back this up? Am I the only one that didn't know this?

I've been blogging quite a bit about lube this month since it is masturbation month. I'm always looking to learn something new to share.

I would think that because it decreases friction, it also decreases slight tears that occur (they may even not be felt) that could allow bacteria in your body. This is just my guess though, not based on any facts (that I am aware of)

Never heard about that, but i agree with waterfall about how friction can cause scratches and tears, and therefore using lube could decrease that possibility

I've never heard this before, but Waterfall's explanation makes sense.
