This is going to be a long post, so just be warned.
I'm 23 years old, and have been with boyfriend for a little over two years now. The very first time we had sex we were a little drunk, and not as careful or slow as we should have been, and I tore. Since then I have been in and out of the ObGyn office because that tear won't heal properly. It essentially healed in a sort of cleft so that it re-tears over and over every time it encounters friction. This makes it almost impossible for us to have sex more than once or twice a week, and even then I sometimes tear without a very uncomfortable amount of lube.
My ObGyn has tried me on steroid creams, estrogen creams, vaginal dilators, and a biopsy to make sure there wasn't something else going on. The tests came back negative, and all the other treatments were ineffective. I was about to accept that I would have painful intercourse for a long time, if not forever assuming I stay with my boyfriend who is rather girth-y.
As a last resort, my ObGyn suggested I use vegetable oil (such as canola or olive oil), and rub it into the tear twice daily to moisturize the area. She said she had recently been to a conference that spoke of the positive effects of vegetable oil for vaginal dryness. I did this for about a month, and saw some slight improvement in my pain with intercourse, but nothing big.
But two weeks ago I was at my local woman-friendly toy shop and I found a lubricant called YES. YES comes in oil and water based. They can be used separately or together. I bought both since the vegetable oil worked a little, I thought I'd try an oil based lube that was vagina safe (which is hard to find, by the way). I sent the ingredients to my ObGyn and she gave me the OK to use it. I've been using both the oil based and water based lube together for two weeks now, and have had absolutely no more pain with intercourse! NONE!
So I am posting this for any women out there who might be having a similar tearing problem or dryness issues, this lubricant has changed my sex life! I no longer fear intercourse, and we are able to have sex whenever we want even in the shower (thanks to the oil based), and twice as often as we ever could before. I have not re-torn at all since using this lubricant, and I'm so much more satisfied with my sex life!
My hope is that the folks at Eden see this and consider carrying YES lubricants on their site so that others can experience it. It's completely natural, and comes in classy, non-discriminant packaging. I love everything about it. It is also wonderful if you have sensitivities to harsh ingredients, which I do.
Thanks for reading, and I hope it helps someone.
