Is it ok to use an oil-based lube with pure silicone toys? More specifically, I have a vixskin toy and I'm considering using coconut oil as an anal lube. Just want to make sure I won't damage the toy! Thanks for any help

Oil-based lube and pure silicone toys get along just fine - I use them together myself in the shower (and indeed, sometimes with VixSkin). Can't verify for straight-up coconut oil, though I imagine it would be all right.

Check with the toy manufacturer.

I use coconut oil on my silicone toys. I've never had a problem.

I have used all kinds of oil based lubes on silicone, more specifically my VixSkin Randy, everything from Vaseline, Crisco to more toy related lubes like Gun Oil and ID Him Lubricating Cream.
Not sure why, but it seems this little bit of information is always left out of reviews and the Silicone material guide. Most of the time reviews state not to use it, this makes no sense to me since all silicone bake-ware are used with oil's in the baking process.

I agree with all those above.... oil and silicone get along just fine!!! I have used all kinds of oils with silicone toys, and like ToyTimeTim said, I also use all kinds of oil on my silicone cookware. No conflict at all!!!

Yes, oil-based lubes are totally safe with silicone toys. Just chiming in to agree.

Vice Versatile
One type of lube that I've now ruined *two* expensive Vixskin toys with (so I'm really 99% sure this is the issue): J-Lube. J-Lube is interesting stuff (and definitely your cheapest choice if you want to schedule lube-wrestling matches , but it causes Vixskin to deteriorate (slight tears and bubbles noticeable, and the whole surface becomes tacky, still is a year later).
I've never had trouble with oil-based lubes, including Vaseline and Shaft

Perfect! I have a jar of coconut oil that I'd love to use on my toys. Thanks so much all!
