Should I review or not?

Contributor: sexysweetieshan sexysweetieshan
Hubby and I have used Astroglide for most of marriage. Going on three years now. I noticed that I'm able to review it on here. I would love to review it for the experience and the points of course, but I am just afraid I won't have enough useful information to say about it. There are already 79 reviews on this product, so I don't know that my one extra review would help someone.

What do you all think? Should I or should I not? And why?

If you think I should, can you please give tips on things I should talk about in the review?

By all means, yes, do a review!

Discuss experiences, allergic concerns, ingredients, clean-up, toy compatibility, scent etc...

Of course, there's only so much you can say about lube and I think most people here realize that. I have yet to do one on some lube I bought from here and on Astroglide too, because that is one of my favorites. I can't tolerate KY at all!

If it's any help to you, I wrote a review on Astroglide a few months back. It wasn't the easiest review in the world, but it's doable!

I have no idea what you may have to say, but if you are enthusiastic about the product (pro or con) and can write well, you may want to try it. I recently wrote a review about Astroglide Green Cap and it was well received (although it doesn't have as many reviews as regular Astroglide.)

If you are unsure of your writing skills, you may want to consider the Mentoring Program. I lot of people have sharpened their writing skills and written better reviews as a result of this program.

There's no reason to not review just because reviews for the product already exist. If you want to test out your skills as a reviewer, it may be good to start with something there's already a lot of info on. Make sure to use the extended template when writing so you don't miss anything!

The only con I see in the situation is this: if you are going to review something that already has a TON of reviews (as Astroglide does), you may not get a very big response. 'tis all

Good luck!

I agree but to reiterate, U will probably not get too great a response. I have to admit, I rarely read reviews on products that are overly covered.
But if U have a unique angle on a product..go for it! Even lubes.

I say you should do a review. When I look at reviews for things like Lube, I generally check the persons profile and try to find someone who seems to have the same opinions as myself on things, and someone I can relate with!

Thanks, I may have to check out some already written reviews to see what types of things I should say.

I already went through the mentor program! Thanks for the suggestion though! I think I write decent reviews on toys, I just wasn't sure how I would do on lubes.

Thanks! I always use the extended template on all my reviews. It's very helpful! And very detailed.

That's a smart way of thinking. I may have to write a review now. I'm just not sure when and what all I'm gonna say. I may have to wait until I can get help from hubby to get his point of view also.

I would write the review if you want to. It doesn't matter how many reviews there are, yours could be the one that someone reads and helps them make their decision

It won't hurt to review because you have more than enough experience with the product and you want the points. Another opinion of something doesn't hurt people who want to read about it.

I would say yes! Most people don't talk "everyday" about sexual aides, and, so it can be confusing. So, if you find things that work, you should let people know any way you comfortably can.

Talk about the ingredients, since some people have allergies to certain materials. Plus, some toys can't be used with silicone based lubes, so knowing what a lube is made of is also important there. Consistency, spreadability, longevity, and was it easy to clean up afterwards.

Hope that helps!!

Sure, why not? If you like something (or dislike something) tell others. Everyone is different and it's fun to write.

Why not do a review on it? So what if there are a lot on it? When someone is looking at reviews on a product, they may only want to read the newest reviews. If anything, consider it a practice or baseline review for other lubes i'm sure you're going to try out.

Thanks, I didn't think of it that way. I do hope to try out some new lubes someday, so it could be more practice. I've only tried KY and Astroglide products, so yes, I definitely want something different.

You'll pleasantly surprised...mostly.

I have to agree with onehotmomma55, If the review is coming from someone I follow or have similar opinions and tastes then I find those reviews really helpful, even if there are already 50 reviews about it.

If you love the product and feel strongly about it I'd certainly say go ahead

Well I wouldn't say I necessarily love it. I would only give it like a middle rating. But it's better than KY and I've never done a review on a lube yet, so I just wasn't sure how to go about starting. Or if I should.
