What type of lube should I use on a dildo used anally? I normally use baby oil gel for all general anal play but for my Tantus Actute I tend to get too much friction when I go faster than a slow in and out motion. What do you guys recommend? Keep in mind my toys silicone. Should I look to another material like glass which has less friction?

Should you be using baby oil gel on a silicone toy? I'm really not sure, but I would get a thick water-based lubricant instead. Really good brands are cushiony and stay wet for a long time and are even great for anal use. I use Astroglide Gel (not sold on Eden except for the Astroglide Anal Shooters; just pick up a tube at Walgreen's or something for $5). It's thick, doesn't drip or splash around, and it lasts a long time when my partner and I use it for anal sex.
Hope that helps

My partner prefers Maximus water based lube for anal play because it is safe with any toy he has, but it's much thicker than most other water based.

I had some good luck with anal-lube, nice and thick and lasts really good.
Thinner lube works in a pinch you just need more, I like the thicker lube better though.
Also I have found if you can shoot lube in there first I get better results with any lube. I found a syringe in the medicine isle for infant cough syrup that works great. There are other "shooters" also.

I wouldn't use any oil based lubrication just out of personal preference.
I whole-heartedly suggest Maximus for all types of below the waist fun. It's thick, water based, and has a great pump dispenser.

I agree with both the Maximus and the CalEx anal lube that Dwtim mentioned. They both work well for that. Though the anal lube is extremely thick and gel like.

Use something water-based, not any oil. Has to be thick, too.

Oil is safe anally and sticks around a long time, but you really do want something thick and specifically lube-y, otherwise it's too thin or too thick (although Crisco does work on some large and slow moving toys). The problem is clean up, since oils (especially thick oils) tend to stick around. When I do the oil thing I wind up using dishwashing liquid to get it all off of me and the toy. Silicone lubes are even worse to clean up after.
For anything but small toy play thick is good. Maximus is nice, but it contains some chemicals that I'm sensitive to (it burns on me). I tend to use Probe Thick and Rich, as it's a good value and pretty much non-irritating, but there are many other lube choices that are good.
Make sure you spend some time lubricating your anus outside and inside (use your finger to push some lube in). If you just lube a slick-surfaced toy and slide it in much of the lube gets "squeegeed" off on the outside and you get pulling and irritation on the inside.

Scott thanks for your info. Yeah I've looked into Maximus and heard good things but would hate to get it and find out it burns. Plus I'd like to use if it with wife as well for non-anal stuff and I know she's pretty sensitive as well. As far as lubricating my anus, I think I do plenty of that both on my anus and on the toy and I've tried reapplying it 3-4 times and it's still too much friction. With the Probe Thick and Rich, why do you say anything but small toy play? Because with smaller toys you don't need lubricant as good as probe? How long does it last before you have to reapply?

Dwtim, thanks I bought some of that a while ago and wasn't too impressed with it but I still have it so maybe I'll try it again to see.
