Problems with the Uma...

Contributor: Miss Anonymous Miss Anonymous
Hi, well I recently got the Uma. I love the Uma, it does have its down falls, but it isn’t enough to make me dislike it. I’ve now had my Uma for some time, and I’m really worried about it. My Uma overheats badly. It doesn’t over heat when I’m using it. I would think it would heat up some during use. Mine heats up during charging. I mean it gets REALLY hot, almost too hot to touch. I just recently charged it and it got that hot again, and when you hold it up to your ears, you can hear a crackling noise. It’s freaking me out, because I REALLY love this toy, and I don’t want to have to order another. I don’t have the money for that. When I told my boyfriend about it, the first thing he said was, maybe your keeping on the charger too long. I told him NO! It gets like this within 20 minutes of being on the charger. My Uma has not gotten a full charge, because I’m too scared to keep it on the charger. When I remove it from the charger, it will take a good 20-25 minutes for it to completely cool off. I’ve read other reviews, and none said anything about this problem.

I’m lost, and I’ve never had a toy do this before. What should I do?

I'd contact Je Joue and ask them about it. Getting hot during charging is bad enough, but crackling is just flat-out alarming.

I dont have uma, but I have Mimi and I dont think this is normal. You should contact customer service about exchanging it. It sounds defective to me. I had to exchange a toy and Eden Fantasys was great about it! Good luck!

Okay, do I contact Je Joue even though I didn't get it from them? The crackling noise scared me. I thought I was bugging, but then it did it again.

Either them or Eden's customer service. You might want to contact both, actually - if nothing else, the manufacturers might like a heads-up that they might need to check for things like this.

Yeah, I didn't have a problem with my Mimi. It's one of my favorite toys. I was wondering about that too. Would EF exchange it even though I've used it. I've never exchanged anyhing before on EF, but I'm sure EF will make it very easy.

If a toy is defective EF will replace it. Check with them. I don't remember how many days you have, so do it asap! Then if that doesn't solve your issue I would contact the manufacturer.

Yikes! That does not sound good! Sounds like it could almost be a fire hazard. I'd do a support ticket here at Eden and just see what they want you to do. If it's within 60 days they'll probably take care of it for you. Scary!

Mine definitely does not do that and it sounds like something is very wrong and defective.
