Interesting question! So thought-provoking. I'm on the fence with this about what kind of parent I want to be. I think it sounds possible because of the openness it might foster, but then again, I'm not sure if it's a strange boundary to cross.

My first instinct was 'no' because it would be awkward, but on second thought... if it's between my teenage son having sex before he's ready or masturbating with or without a toy.. I'd definitely choose masturbating, and I'd help him buy a toy (especially if he had the money and just needed an adult to make the purchase) if he wanted it.
