Is jelly different with different toys?

I've been reading some review and I noticed that jelly can be different in different toys. For examle, it can be hard and firm in one toy and soft and tender in another one. Is this really the case, of have I been reading too much reviews?

There is no set of standard ingredients of "jelly". This means that the company that is saying their product is "jelly" can adjust the ingredients to be the way they want it to be. This also means it is a mystery material for us end users. This is a big reason that many here will avoid products made out of "jelly". It is certainly possible that the different products will have distinctly different feels to them so, in general, I would trust the opinion of the reviewer.

I agree with Jimbo, and generally turn my nose up at jelly toys. There is no standardized list of ingredients, so the manufacturers can basically put whatever material they like into their products and we would be none the wiser. Since sex toys aren't regulated, this is also a legal practice provided that the manufacturers label their products as "for novelty use only".

Jelly toys are impossible to sterilize since the material is very porous. They also contain phthalates, chemicals that are used to soften the plastic and give it that squishy texture. Before buying any jelly toys, I would advise anyone who is unfamiliar with these chemicals to Google "phthalates and sex toys" in order to be an informed consumer and make your decision based on that.

It's usually a good idea to trust the opinion of a reviewer. I've also started paying close attention to videos that show how flexible the material is. There's also the option of going to a store and asking to see/touch the product and ordering online later. Not that it's the best thing, but it is an option.
