Thanks for posting on this!
Throwing away old/broken/crap toys into the dumpster has made me cringe.
"What if someone finds them with my address stuck to the side of it?"

"What if some dumb kid finds my old toy and doesn't clean it right and dies from the worlds worst UTI?"

"What if some person surfs the garbage JUST for old toys to re-sell in some seedy...ok that one is unlikely...

Fred said that Edenfantasys might be starting something up in the future this year. I'm really hoping for that!

Deal with your dead (toys) it in style the way the Greeks did: a funeral pyre out back .

Legitimate sex toy recycling is no easy task, but we're working on doing something meaningful and real. We are very particular about how this is going to be done - it cannot just be another middle-man scenario where the toys still wind up in a landfill... no thanks! We will be keeping everyone posted when we have some news.

I could totally see how it would be a huge task to take on considering what these items are and where they have potentially been and the whole STI scenario that could play a part.

I have to hand it to the Eden Fantasys staff. Most places seem like they care, but it is very very clear that you all actually care (and aren't just faking it). I am really impressed with the amount of work you all put into your jobs.

To take the time to undertake something like a legitimate toy recycling program show just how much this staff cares about the other people here, so a major kudos for that.

I have some things that can definitely be passed on but I didn't want them to end up just sitting in a landfill.

Victoria, do you have a ballpark time in which we'll see a recycling program here?

We, of course, are hoping for "soon"... but again, this is not something we are jumping into. We keep finding fault with places that look good at first glance. We are truly endeavoring to not just be some middleman in a meaningless process - it has to be real, we need to have proof that it is real, and it has to be practical for our customers. We have a lot of the online stuff prepped - the hold up is with a facility. That's my update for you

Thanks for the update. And as much as I'm chomping at the bit, thanks for not rushing it.

That one is not new - it's the same people as before with a newer site We have looked into what they do, and are not interested at this time because of how they appear to be doing business. We find this type of "recycling" questionable, so when we do it, it will be with an actual recycling plant/facility.

Let us know what you think if you use this service. Do you get some type of proof that the toys were recycled?

Oh really? I didn't realize that! I just stumbled upon it today. Why do you find it questionable?

I was seriously considering using it, but had not yet. I'll do it as an experiment and report back . I have gotten a lot of new toys lately and many of them are silicone or higher end materials so I am weeding my older jelly ones out and making more room for my boyfriend's stuff in our apartment lol.

I'll come back to this after I find more out.

Not sure if anything has come of this yet. I've been browsing for recycling options since I have a ton of toys I don't want anymore and found that this company has a program link. It's the only one I've seen that actually looks legit.

They also put this little blurb in:
"Please ask your home pleasure party company or retail store to contact Scarlet Girl for info on how they can offer a sex toy recycling program too."

Bless your souls! Lovely idea. My husband and I often want to recycle toys (and packaging) but are worried about the practices companies use. I trust EF 100% so this is something I would definitely take part in if it becomes a reality.

Sorry, but I just do not see any widespread sex toy recycling happening any time soon.

-it's too costly
-used toys can be a bio-hazard
-very, very few sex toys are currently made of recyclable materials

The best way I know to recycle a sex toy is to give it to a friend.

Of course that is assuming the toys are non-porous, sterilizable, and body-safe materials...and lastly, it takes a special friendship to even consider such a thing.
