Vixskin, O2, and... Blood? Also Storing Options?

Contributor: Envy Envy
So I sat down and ordered some toys i really wanted with the coupons I had (thanks so much EF!) which ended up being a Whipspider Jellyfish, a Vixskin Randy, and an O2 Adam. However, I have a major question to ask.

I read somewhere that it was either Vixskin or O2 can pick up newspaper print/ink/whatever if it's lying on it. My question is, can the materials because they're softer silicone be stained by blood? I ordered my Vixskin Randy in chocolate so I'm not too worried about that one, but I ordered my O2 Adam in cream and I worry about it becoming stained by blood or otherwise.

Also, while on the subject, can the material be indented easily if stored with other toys? I typically have dildos and such in pouches or wrapped in fabrics and lying in a box with each other and I worry that with how soft these toys are they'll get indents or warped. I heard it's best to leave them in their packages or keep them upright, but I am limited in my abilities to do that while keeping them hidden from view. Do they really have to stay upright and avoid touching anything and everything? I've never had a problem with any of my silicone toys, even the softer kinds.

Thanks in advance!

First things first: what is going on that brings blood into the equation? Sounds frightening.

As to your question, I've found that my vixskin toys are, indeed, affected by the other toys in my toy box. I've had them absorb ink from my other toy's packaging as well. Vixskin is awesome stuff, but it needs to be kept seperate from cheap plastics, faux leather, and other sketchy materials.

I mean like period blood, sorry for any confusion.

Would it take in color from fabrics at all do you think? Like if I put them in drawstring pouches?

I unfortunately can't offer help on your actual question - but I am very curious to see what you think of the jellyfish, so I hope you review it!

Might I suggest you ask this question "about" someone from Vixen so they see it? Not sure what that's called, but I think they'd be more likely to respond.

Would I just be sending a direct message to one of them on this site?

@ Tori: I would... but my stuff still hasn't even shipped yet and I ordered last week.

I think what potstickers meant was asking this in a new thread and associating it with a member of vixen's page.

I would suggest messaging them, first, though, and seeing if you can get a response that way!

I can't speak for Vixskin but I have the O2 Mark and I store it in a small clear plastic bag thrown into a drawer with all my other toys and it seems just fine, no denting or any other weirdness.

Ah okay. Have you used it and gotten any menstrual blood on it? Does it seem like it's staining at all?

I don't think I've used it during my period yet, but I don't really foresee it being an issue. I mean, unless maybe you get blood on it and then let it sit for an extended period (no pun intended) of time? Blood can be staining, but not like newsprint is - one's an ink, *made* for marking things, one's a fluid that has the potential to stain in the right circumstances but it's not like the it instantaneously marks what it touches. Just wash the toys when you're done, which I assume you do anyway, and it should be fine.

That said, I'll make a note to try it out and reply with the results, but that experiment is a couple weeks away as of now

I don't forsee a problem. Silicone doesn't absorb anything, but sometimes it can adsorb oil-soluble/fat-solubl e things onto the surface, such as printing inks or butt-smell compounds. Think of it like the red stuff from tomatoes that stains plastic containers. It's not in the silicone and anything biologic can be removed/sanitized, and in many cases if you find the right cleaner the chemicals can also be removed.

That said I don't see blood ever becoming an issue, because it's not fat soluble.

ScottA is correct. Thanks for your help. I can't speak for the other manufacturer's product, but Vixskin will not stain, as it is non-porous. As for denting, etc. we do advise that you keep your toy in the shipping tube.
Best,
Kitty Vixen
