Which LUBES best for TOY use? Which to TOTALLY avoid??? Any advice?

Contributor: Bignuf Bignuf
Since I had always heard water based lube was fine for toy play, I was surprised when one of my favorite Jelly rabbits (yes, sorry..I like Jelly), started MELTING with the presence of a WELL known warming lube. WATER BASED too.

Must have been the chemicals added for "warming" (I like warming lube best).

SO...now I am nervous about what lube with what.

Anyone have any "guidelines" of lubes they KNOW are "always" toy safe or others that are "supposed to be" toy safe, but are not?

Please share.

THANKS.

I'm curious as to which lube you used. Someone here might be able to tell you what ingredient to avoid if we know precisely which lube was involved.

Water-based lube should, in pretty much all cases, be safe for toys. But some that claim to be water-based are actually hybrids, meaning they have a small amount of silicone in them, so while they're less likely to react with toys there's a chance it'll still happen. Patch tests can save a lot of heartbreak.

If you tell me the lube you used, I may be able to help.
