I don't really know a whole lot about body scrubs. I have a salt scrub from Venus and it works wonderfuly but I'm a little more cautious when it comes to the sugar scrubs. They obviously contain sugar and I imagine it would make your skin break out? I guess I'm just concerned that if I was to use it in the shower on my arms and legs it would exfoliate my skin but just make me break out later. I'm just wondering if you prefer salt or sugar scrubs and why.
Can sugar scrubs make you break out?

This hasn't caused me to break out, if that helps.

I'm sure rinsing it off takes all the sugar off but I wonder if any of it lingers on the skin or not. When I think of sugar on the skin I think of bacteria and break outs.
I have this body butter from a store on etsy and it contains sugar and smells like peaches. It's a great product and smells amazing but the sugar thing bothers me. I wonder if I should just throw it out.

The sugar vs. salt shouldn't make a difference for whether it makes you break out, but the types and amount of oil in a particular scrub might make you more prone to breaking out.

I'm not sure it could be the size of the grains that make it happen, or even the amount of oil in the overall product.

i prefer salt scrubs just for the simple fact that the sugar ones can cause infections and honestly when i have used the sugar scrubs it made my "down there" smell.....off, not BAD, just off.....

The oils can cause your pores to clog, causing break outs. Im not an expert on this stuff, but my wife talks to me a lot about this sort of thing. If you're using the scrub from venus and its working for you, I don't see how the sugar should make you break out. I would read some of the reviews on the one you are looking into purchasing, maybe inbox message some of those folks and ask them if THEY had any issues with break outs with the product. And of course, do a little research on some of the ingredients that are in the scrubs before you buy.

Ok. I'll think about it. I'm interested in the Cake sugar scrubs. I might try one just to see what happens.

Bacteria love sugar, not salt. Be careful using sugar near genital area, as it can cause UTI.

It is pretty greasy so I don't feel like this rinses off ALL the product.

I've never had this issue with home-made or purchased sugar scrubs. But then again I don't use them on my face.

Depends on the ingredients, and your skin type, any possible allergic reactions, if you're washing it off completely. Could just be an ingredient you're sensitive to.

ohh no dont throw it out keep it! Sugar doesn't collect bacteria unless you were to leave a larger amount somewhere where bacteria is more prone to grow without rinsing it off......if you rinse clean you'll be fine, sugar dissolves anyways. But omg I love etsy! Try the products!!! =)=)

on your body I would assume not but maybe if you use it daily it might since it causes your body to produce more oils. I know I cant wash my face often or I break out.
