As others have mentioned, things can't really get "lost" in your vagina because they'll always stop at the cervix, so toys can't get sucked up into your body via the vagina the way they can via your anus/rectum. I definitely wouldn't recommend sticking a bullet or egg (even one with a cord) up your bum, but you don't have much to worry about inserting them vaginally. In the event the cord did break, you'd just have to stick your fingers up there and fish it out. At worst, it might cause a little frustration (especially if you have tiny baby fingers like me), but it would hardly be a medical emergency.
