My girlfriend is prone to back pain (due to stress) and so I give her a lot of massages, I was wondering which massage stones you think would be best for her?

Which would be best for saving my hands during massages? I give them *a loooot* and I'd like to be able to go longer before I start getting tired.

I don't have the I, but I do have the M and the Qs. I don't like the Qs as much for back massages, though they are excellent for tension headaches. The M is nice for back massages and I imagine the I would be too.

We have the 'M' and like it a lot. We also have the 'Q' set - not so much. They are actually advertised to work together - by rotating the 'Q' stones inside the 'M' - one works that way - one doesn't.
Using the 'M' with massage lotion/oil is better than dry skin. The JimmyJane lotions are good but you can use most anything you have and like.
enjoy

I have the M and the Q and the M is much better. The Q is nice for a change of pace, but M really gets the job done. I'm going to buy a second!

Depends what you want to use it for. M would probably be best for general rubbing massage, but the Contour I is great for "point pressure" massage (not sure quite what to call it, but when you put quite a bit of pressure on one point where there's a tight muscle).
I've found it's kind of hard to roll stones, so the textured ones don't work well for me.

I have the M, and it's great for back massage.

The M is pretty amazing, the M and I combined are just about everything you'd need to give a variety of different sensations.

I am voting for M because it is the only one I have tried...but it rocked.

I'm thinking either the groove tip wand or the octo pleaser. Both are pretty in the aesthetic sense, and they look functional.

The M looks like it would rest in the hand in the most comfortable manner.

I picked two of them. Mind you I don't own any of them, but I do have quite a few massage tools since that's what I do for a living. I'd say the contour M is good for large areas but it might be difficult to get into knots that are in harder to get places like around the neck and shoulders. I think the groove tip wand would be good for focusing on knots, but probably not as good if you're just trying to relax her.

JimmyJane's collection is like... a godsend. Seriously.
I have arthritis in both my hands, and massages start to hurt after only a couple minutes, but I love giving them! And of course, M loves getting them. And he loves these stones. Not so much the Q, but *I* love the Q. Especially after a long day of walking, or standing. They're amazing foot massagers. Truly.
One thing I've noticed, though, is that if you use the M and I together, you really should heat them first by letting them sit for a few minutes in hot water (not so hot you can't put your hand in it) and use a good amount of some sort of oil. (My favorite is the Kama Sutra Sensual Massage Oil in sweet almond.) Otherwise, they make a lot of noise, either squeaking or clacking. I'm not sure why heating helps, but it really does. And besides that, it really enhances the massage.

It's a shame the contour q is discontinued. Carrie Ann did a great demo video of how all the pieces could be used to work together.

I absolutely adore the M, so I'm definitely going to suggest that. You can use it in many different ways!

The M! It's on my list of great things to have The husband use on me.... lol

The m is neat!

The Contour M is so good the working out the knots, but also broader massage because you can use the big wide part, or the nodes - you can even use just one node to pinpoint places.

The I is good for just pinpointing places....
And the Octopuss is cheap....
Also you can but the Q or the I into the M, in between nodes, for rolling it around; or use them separately.
So you could start with the M and then get the other ones in the set!!

Contour M for sure!

Contour M!

to me it depends on the type of massage she likes. I don't like the feeling of too many fingers touching me so the octopus would piss me off.

the groove tip wand is cute and it will release pain

M definitely, but Q too

Groove tipped wand would work really well, and they would be really fun because you can heat up the glass. Or cool it down, if that's something that you like

I have a great massager - it's wood & looks like a door knob - 2 things I like about is that I can use it by myself even on my back plus it's great for pinpoint massages...

The contour M, love the nubs.
08/02/2012
I got excited when I saw stones... thought you meant hot rock stones.
