Cock Rings and Condoms?

Contributor: orange_cutie orange_cutie
My bf and I have been doing our research on cock rings because it's something he's interested in trying. However because of our lack of martial status, we use condoms every time. I've read almost all the reviews on EF about cock rings and I've only seen one that briefly talks about usage with condoms and it wasn't too informative. So I was wondering what kind of experience you've had with using condoms and cock rings, like if it was extremely uncomfortable to caused too much slippage. Thanks!

What type of cock ring are you looking at? That would help in giving better advice.

I did not have the chance to try that much cockrings, that much, but it was always with a condom. As far as I know, it doesn't cause much of a problem on any aspect: the condom stays put, as well as the ring (of course, that's granted you didn't douse your boyfriend's penis with lube beforehand). It may cut him some sensation he would otherwise feel without a cockring, however, but, I guess that's a subjective thing.

We've used condoms with our cock rings every time. Just put the condom on first, then stretch the cock ring onto the cock. Haven't had any issues -- I wouldn't worry about it.

If you're really concerned, you could get ultra thin condoms. We like the Durex ones.

We were just thinking of something simple, like a silicone ring for beginners or something.

I'm glad to hear that the ring doesn't tear the condom or anything that would compromise its integrity.

Good question. I've tested a number of cock rings, but with my husband. We obviously don't use condoms. Maybe next time, if I'm still on a cock ring binge, I'll have to make sure that we try it that way.

In general, most of the ones we've tried, probably wouldn't make a difference with a condom though. Leather ones would go on too high- around the top of the shaft and the balls. Jelly ones- over the condom, and possibly around the balls. The bandito was just around the shaft for us, but others have worn it around the balls. I guess that one is one that might actually tear a condom if there were any rough edges in the silicone, but we didn't notice any. The aventurine didn't fit, but again it's around the balls so it shouldn't be a problem.

Good luck!

I have tried pretty much all the cock rings I've had with condoms and the only issue I had was making sure the cock ring goes on after the condom without tearing the condom. If you lube up the shaft before you slide the ring on it should prevent tearing.

Don't want to confuse anyone but my b/f puts his cock ring on prior to erection. He has one that the balls go through first then the flaccid penis. His balls and shaft are encircled. Upon erection a condom is put on as usual. In no way does the cock ring interfere or tear the condom.
Some rings just go around the aroused shaft not the balls, so the condom has to go on first so it doesn't slip off.

Yes - I should have included that all the ones I've tried were for cock only - no balls.

I'm glad you asked this question because I'd been wondering the same thing. Although my partner and i haven't tried C-rings, i would like to but I wondered if the ring would make a condom slip. Good to know C-rings are a go and won't effect condom use : )

It would depend on the cock ring. If you are using a stretchy one, it fits directly over the condom and can even be helpful in holding the condom in place. I have not tried putting a condom on after a ring is on. Try a simple stretchy one to start might help you.

The only problem I could forsee coming up is if the ring slid while on top of the condom causing it to possibly rip. The friction could cause a slight tear.

Although we've only tried a cock ring once, my boyfriend didn't feel any discomfort while wearing both the ring and a condom. No slippage, damage, or pinching.

Im an 18 yr old male an to help with any advice at all before you use a cockring (if rubber) run it under warm water first so its more streatchable an then lubricate so it causes no discomfort. I find it can be used best if you slide it down your companions penis and over the balls but make sure hes comfortable. It works best like that so it has more pleasure for you and him cause normally when a male ejaculates the balls push towards the body but with the way I use it the cockring it stops the balls from pushing towards the body and makes it more pleasurable for me. An to pleasure you he will be more thick. I know this because iv tried it just around the penis, just around the balls, and both around the penis and balls. My female companions tell me that around both is better and I agree.
