my husband has one, and he told it is really painful, some his friends couldt bare it.. but he did it, because his doctor urologist said him that pump is useful, it is a kind of physiotherapy for erection. but you must be careful in using. better to use lube, and also to know exact period of time of using it.

Thanks so much for the response! It helped a lot. We are a little weary of getting him one... because we don't know a whole lot about them.

Some people on net mentioned that it can weaken the erections eventually. Can you share your hubby's experience with pump? How are his erections when not using pump.

I have used a pump strictly for play purposes. Honestly, there is always the fear of breaking something that works. There is always a danger of rupturing something inside the penis, but hopefully the pain response will stop you from reaching that point.

My problem with pumps have been that they don't really work that well. While you are inside, yes, they work. However, unless you restrict the bloodflow prior to releasing the suction, the results don't last.

There are high-end pumps out there that do work. For the longest time the VA gave these out to patients with erectile dysfunction. I have not tried the really high-end version. I have tried ones sold in sex toy stores which are more novelties than medical devices.

Good luck. I hope he finds something that works for him.
