Looking to get a cock ring for my boyfriend. I decided to start with something non-vibrating and I'm tried to find something a little on the cheaper side. I've found these three and am now trying to decide which is best for the price. Obviously, the metal one is cheaper, but the review said the quality wasn't the best. So is the upgrade to steel really worth it? On the other hand, there's the silicone ring which is stretchy. (A plus, since I'm not 100% sure on how thick he really is.)
Anyway, let me know what you think.

Go for the stretchy one, it will be much more comfortable, and much easier to get on and off. The metal ones really scare me.

Rollie... flexible ones are always better and more comfortable. Metal ones need extra precaution and care. They can unnecessary cause more anxiety for wearer.

Why not try the vibrating one. There are more choices in there and I am sure you would also going to like the sweet sensations on your clit.

The point of buying it is to have something my boyfriend can use just for him. He's bought me a lot of stuff that he doesn't really get to play with, so this is just for him.

Got it.. then you should just go with a non vibrating one.

Personally, I would go for something like this or something like this
What My Mr. really likes about the ties is that they are adjustable to whatever he wants to accomplish. We have a jelly one that we are going to be replacing SOON with the silicone I suggested and he's really excited that it comes with a cock-n-balls tie as well. They are also a little easier to remove in (pardon the pun) a pinch. Just loosen the bead.
As for the rings, I'd go for the cheapest of the safer materials. The packaging says 100% silicone, but our specs say TPR. I would go with our specs. But since he won't be sharing them with anyone, it's not really a big deal. That package comes with two different ones so he can see which one fits his package best.

You really do not want to go metal unless you can get an accurate measurement. I assume you are trying to surprise him so that may not be possible.
It is basically useless if you don't get the right measurement.

Go stretchy or adjustable until you figure out what you like. Silicone is nice because it lasts forever, but for easy on and off it's hard to beat one of the snap ones.

For metal rings size it very critical. To small and there could be a trip to the ER. I don't mean to scare you but feel that you should know. Check out B8trDude's thread - here Cock ring and emergency room nightmares Check out the links he provides.
Like others have said, go with something that has some give and are stretchy. Ties and Velcro type will give you more adjustability.
I personally do not find non-vibrating ring's pleasurable, all they do is make you harder and somewhat bigger. Something with a vibe will provide more stimulation.

Definitely go with something stretchy, especially if he is not used to wearing a ring and you don't know exactly what size to get him.
Not only is stretchy more comfortable, but silicone is a great material to play with. And it has that cool little attachment!
Have fun!

Going with a flexible one is defiantly the right choice.

oooo the rolie looks fun. i personally am drawn to that one.
01/05/2011
If its his first, I'd say the Rollie... the metal ones can be a bit difficult. If he knows he likes them, though, perhaps the steel!
01/05/2011
Not a fan of the metal ones so I stick with the stretchy ones.
01/24/2011
Starting out stretchy is the way to go - but metal ones are OK too - but size becomes important. In metal I can't go smaller than 2"
01/24/2011
Love the looks of the metal ones but the stretchy is so much more comfy!

The Tantus Beginner Cock Ring I think is near perfect. The Jolies one is also good, and can be stretched enough to go over a more, er, interested package.
Metal always brings out worries of having to call out the local VFD with the jaws of life.

No metal.
02/14/2011
I guess it should be known after reading this, that you should buy breakable materials when buying cock rings if you are a newbie.
02/14/2011
Like everyone else avoid the metal ones if your a newbie, get either a stretchy one or an adjustable snap kind.
02/14/2011
Unless you REALLY are certain on sizing... go for something with some stretch to it (silicone preferably) because you have to be very certain it will fit when you buy a metal ring.
02/27/2011
Stretchy is best unless you know the metal will fit comfortably

I would have said go for the steel, but the metal ones are seriously hard to size, especially if he's not right there with you. I'd go for the stretchy on at first and see if he likes it. The metal ones are SO sexy on though...

I would go with Rollie (Blue), because it does leave your needs out of the experience. The other two don't offer the stimulator that Rollie provides for the female experience. Rollie (Blue) will be satisfying for the both of you. Hope you have fun with whatever your choice.

the tantus silicone one is a good start. a quality metal one is good, but you need to measure carefully as there is (obviously) no give. check out my review Metal Cock Ring for some good info and a link to the manufacturer site with lots of info

Metal is where it's at! Easy to get on and off and you can wear it 24/7. That's not the case for silicone rings and the metal looks and feels better.
