Has anyone tried any of the variations of a swing? i.e. door sling, ceiling attached and the one with its own base. I am wondering what people felt was the safest and most fun.

Trust me unless you have a ceiling joist or something perfect to mount a ceiling mount your going to hurt yourself.
Invest in a stand or a tripod etc. Expensive and bulky but so much more safer if your a bit heavier.

Ore you can do what my friend does and leave it up in a spare room but attach a baby bouncer to the harness, and he doesn't have kids. When anyone asks he says it is for his nephew when he come over to play.

Reading these comments made me remember something that happened long ago. I was going to add my 2 bits and suggest: just go to the park after dark. One with swings and use one there.
Then I remember with one of gfs in my teens playing on the playground swing.
I was facing forward and her straddling me, facing me. Two little kids maybe 9 or 10 yrs old were jeering us as we swing back and forth. Rubbing one finger of one hand on the other while pointing at us and saying "Ommmie ! "
I guess they caught their parents in that position.
Then I remember with one of gfs in my teens playing on the playground swing.

We leave it up and ready for action. It's easier that way. Taking it down requires a small ladder to reach it. It's hanging in a locked bonus room kind of secluded away from the rest of the house.

The room is full of sexual goodies. We have a ginormous toy collection, but no Sybian. We do have several of the Liberator toy mounts. They work pretty well with our assortment of dildos and vibes. As far as the Sybian we've never seriously considered it. Too pricey, too loud and no silicone attachments.

Back to topic, I almost had one hung from the ceiling over my bed, just almost. And I still think about that & him. We checked out a free standing swing but thought it might scoot around, not stay firmly planted. That might be something to consider.
