I personally think that smooth plastic vibes work the best for beginners. They give you a good starting point to figure out what you do and don't like, and are typically pretty cheap.

i think link this is a good starting point. it has a velvety coating which makes it soft and has little to no drag. i use link this lube to give it a smooth glide and it works like a charm. it is waterproof, inexpensive, and it doesn't eat batteries. also, if you angle it just right, you can hit your g-spot =)
