I've heard some of the metal balls chipping, but anyone experience this type of thing with the glass ones?

I did, but luckily the chipping happened while they were in my toy drawer and not in me! I should have stored them better (they were in a box and I thought the small bit of room they had to roll around wouldn't be an issue. I was wrong.).

Mmmm... makes me wonder about possibly getting these ones over another pair.

Chipping. Not a very good sales pitch!

Really...metal ones chipping? That seems very odd. Which ones were they?

Oh, so the finish was chipping off? Yes, that would make sense. I hope you'll write a review on them to warn others, if you haven't already!

My friend had them a few years back from a local toy shop, and i just remember her telling me hers chipped, and was kinda weary on the glass ones doing the same thing...i might just get silicone coated ones or something for peace of mind...lol

By coated, do you mean that they were chrome plated perhaps?
I've seen the chrome plating peel off of even relatively high quality wrenches.
With a stainless steel toy that is all stainless steel and NOT plated, peeling would not occur nor "chipping".
