Just the other day, I realized that I call some of my toys "she" and some of my toys "he". Do other people think of their toys as having a certain gender, when talking about them? Or do you just call all your toys "it", or by their names?
Do you think of your toys as having a gender?

I call some of them she or he, but not all of them. For example, I call my Ina "she". It's just so pretty and feminine, it seems like a girl to me. But I have another toy that I always refer to as male when I talk about it. Other toys I will sometimes just call by their real name. I am not sure why I do that, I just do.

Not really. We tend to just refer to them either by their name Elise, Form 2, We-Vibe, or by a nickname that we have come up with for a particular one.

No, I just call them my their name.

It really depends on how they look. Most things of a phallic nature are he while something pink or small is she.

Hmmm... I never thought of my toys as "he" or "she". I do have a realistic butt plug but everything else I usually call by its color or size. Bf does call my big black butt plug "Big Blackie". ; )

Only a few have definite gender. Mark 02 is a dude. Ella is a chick (although she has a dick LOL!) I call most things "dudes" so I will often say, "Grab that dude over there." Or, "Could you please wash that dude." But, its not really a gender thing for me.

Aside from that, I don't get the whole gendering toys phenomenon. Unless it's a torso toy or maybe a pocket pussy. There is a website where they have gendered ALL their toys for sale. Weird. I don't usually understand gendering phallic dildos as girls. Why do I think of Ella as a female toy? It has a name.

I refer to some of my toys as he or she, mostly the ones that came with people's names. I try to avoid it in reviews though.

I do call some of my toys him and her. Really depends how pretty it is if it's a girl or a boy
I feel silly doing it, and so I do say "it" pretty often as well. "he's my new favorite toy!" "she works simply amazing" and stuff like that often pops out of my mouth

It depends on the toy but most of mine are "guys"
06/30/2011
Definitely. I'm not sure why but a lot of my toys just seem like they have a specific gender.
06/30/2011
I don't call my toys a he or a she. That's kinda weird to me. =p
06/30/2011
I'd call ones with gender-specific names "he" and "she" in reviews. Otherwise I think I'd just use "it".
06/30/2011
There are a couple toys I think of as a he or a she, but not many.

I do this toy. It depends on the look & style of the toy.
06/30/2011
I don't think I've referred to my toys by anything other than "it" but I have a habit of referring to objects as "this guy" or "these guys." People have even made fun of me for it before.
06/30/2011
I don't.
06/30/2011
The ones that I call "he" or "she" tend to be the ones that come with names like Adam, Johnny, Aveline, Ella... things like that. Most of my toys are not referred to as "he" or "she" though.
06/30/2011
no i don't.

I do that too! lol I will call one "the purple guy" another "the big guy" and so on. I don't know why I do it either, it is kind of goofy. (But then so am I.)

I don't really call them he or she. Maybe ever once in a while but not often enough to notice.
07/01/2011
All my dildos are he's and have names.
07/01/2011
I don't name mine.. theyre just its.

All of my toys that I use on a regular basis, except for my Leo, is a she. Even the Mistress, because it's 1) Called Mistress and 2) glitter. (both of those things equate femininity in my mind, even if that's narrow thinking, it's my cock, dammit ) I've gotta really love a toy to assign it a gender. Not just ANY toy can have a gender or name.

As someone who's first language has gendered nouns I have little choice. In Polish vibrator is a "he", if we import "dildo" (cause we have nothing better than "fake penis") it would be an "it" (like window, baby) 'cause it ends with "o". Wand, beads and vaginal balls are female and masturbator and rabbit are male. Plug can be a "he" or a "she" depending on which of the two translations you use.

I refer to all of mine by their name/category, I think. Like 'my bullet vibe' or 'the panther' or what have you.
07/01/2011
Generally I don't gender them, but I sometimes think of them as "she." Like a boat.

I have a few toys that I refer to by gender, but mostly I call them "it" and refer to them by their name or their qualities
