Here's the thing:
my partner and I have recently decided to start saving up for a luxury product. She wants the iRide. I want the Hitachi.
I want opinions. Do you have both and prefer one? Do you think one's better than the other? Etc etc.
Any and all help would be appreciated :D

For the Hitachi magic wand, you may be able to figure out a setup to make it ride-able. Personally I don't think I'd like the Hitachi, but I don't enjoy a lot of vroom for clitoral stimulation. You could get more variety out of the Hitachi, so I think that it's a little more worth the price. If your partner thinks she'd enjoy something like the Liberator BonBon or Pulse, I think I'd choose something like that over the iRide for versatility (both let you insert your own toys to ride, and the Pulse has an external vibe pocket for clitoral vibes).

I haven't even considered the iRide, it just looks uncomfortable to me, and where would My Man go? I mean, it might be nice, if I were giving him a blow job, while sitting on the floor. But, it isn't really useable in a lot of sexual and non-sexual situations. We've had our Wahl and our Hitachi for years.
The Hitachi is good, but IMO, the Wahl is even better.

I also have both. It takes some finagling for me to be able to use the iRide because it is painful to use as is. I have to pad it with a pillow because the seat is uncomfortable to my tail bones. I also have to hold it while standing up, straddle it while still standing up, and insert it (while---you guessed it---still standing up, and then carefully lower it (and myself with the toy inserted) to a chair to use it. If I place it in a chair or floor first and then attempt to lower myself on it to insert it, it hurts waaaay too bad to even accomplish it. Though I love clitoral pressure (so much so that I sometimes bruise myself if I don't watch it as I can get a bit carried away), I find the clitoral bump too hard. But I can get pleasurable use out of it once I've managed to ever so carefully situate myself properly. Even after being as careful as I've described in approaching the iRide gingerly, I am sore for days (mostly internally) after using it.
I have the Hitachi, and I absolutely love it. However, it took me a few months to work up to being able to handle the lower intensity. I don't know why, but one day I just woke up and was able to handle the low intensity just fine (though I had previously found it to be so intense that it was painful). Now I can't imagine not having a Hitachi at my disposal. I keep mine out all of the time!
But if you want something to ride, I echo the earlier suggestion to get a toy-holding Liberator piece. I have the Pulse and like it much, much, MUCH better than the iRide! (Speaking of a ridable Liberator piece, I need to get the Axis since it's designed to hold the Hitachi . . .)

Yep, agreed. Hitachi over iRide. The iRide reviews have not been good at all, plus the Hitachi is way more versatile. As someone upthread mentioned, you can make your own much better iRide with the Hitachi and a Liberator shape.

I won't get the Hitachi because I think it will ruin my experience with other toys. Yeah I know that sounds stupid. I think it's too strong, and really loud. I like the Wahl suggestion though.

I love my Hitachi, but be aware that it is super strong. I can't use it directly, so I use it with my sweatpants on, and a blanket in between. It's not exactly the sexiest set up...
I know some people can handle it directly and just love it.

The Hitachi is an awesome product. You don't have to worry about batteries, because it just plugs into the wall. You're saving on cost there. As far as not being able to ride it there are products that allow you to holster the Hitachi and other products so that you can ride.
My one warning with the Hitachi is that with prolonged use like every other vibrator it can desensitize you and make it hard to get off without it. However, that isn't just a concern with the Hitachi it is a concern with all sex toys.

The hitachi is expensive but it is well worth it, i don't have money to buy many toys and i've had the magic wand for 2+ years and its stll going strong (and I use it hour(s) a day)
