I gave Eden Fantasys' customer service a call on Monday just to ask when (and if) they'd be getting the new Mimi (with the same pattern button as the Uma and Fifi.) They are getting the new ones in, and they're currently expecting them to be there within the next few weeks. So...I'd bet by/around March. Which is really exciting. And it also makes me determined to hold out for the new one versus buying the current one. I'm hoping that they've fixed the bubbling up silicone problem with Mimi 2.0 (this is just what I've decided to call it, haha) because that's a good part of why I haven't gotten the current model.

Who's all going to get a new Mimi? Besides me, that is?

Nice to know! I've been meaning to get the Mimi for awhile now. I guess I will just keep waiting until they get the new one in.

I was hoping they'd have it in before this Valentine's day promo. I'm SOOOO tempted to just get the current one because I have the points and whatnot to be able to get it on sale. But part of me is like, "NO, because it has some flaws and there's a better version (hopefully) coming out soon."

The other issue is that I've been wanting a Mimi for SO LONG. Like, literally since October.

I feel like it's the equivalent of buying an iPad2 a few weeks before apple comes out with the iPad3, lol. Like, we all know that the new Mimi's going to get here soon-ish. It's just a matter of holding out.

EDIT: I'm toying with the idea of getting the new UMA instead of the current Mimi. Because I KNOW it'll never be 30% off again (I'm getting over $150 worth of stuff) and I'd like to get something expensive while I have the cash/points.

I'm curious as to if the new one is any stronger (like how Uma is stronger than the old MiMi), but I don't think I'll be replacing mine until it dies (hopefully not for a long time).

The new one should be great if you like patterns, though. I never use them, so that's probably why it doesn't have much draw for me.

the mimi i bought was defective and i returned it for refund instead of getting a replacement so i could hold out for the new one with the pattern button

Nope - no desire. I got the original, but I don't think it's anything that grand and worth me spending more for the next one.

I asked Customer Service last week when Mimi would be back in stock - they said they were expecting a shipment sometime this week. I'm assuming those will be the new model. Now just waiting (im)patiently...

I think the new one will likely have the bubbling problem too. It's just that mine's gotten so bad that it's affecting performance.

The Mimi is on my wish list so I'm definitely interested in the new model. But I want to read couple of reviews first. I hope it comes out soon!
