I ordered a jelly vibe (I know, I know). . . and used it while I had a UTI -- I didn't know I had it until the next morning.

So is there a way to safely clean it or should I just toss it? Being jelly, I'm thinking I may want to toss.

Opinions?

I'd say toss it. Jelly cannot be sterilized or sanitized, so you're risking another infection if you use it.

That's what I was thinking. It was kind of pricey, so I'm bummed about that. .. but it was loud too, so probably wouldn't have been used a whole lot. I mean, that think was like a motorcycle engine down there. lol

Actually, I forgot an important question — were you using it with a toy cover/condom? If not, then definitely throw it out. However, if you used a cover it should be fine.

I don't know if I'd want to part with something that had 'motorcycle engine' power.

No, it wasn't covered.

It didn't have motorcycle engine power, just sounded like it! That thing was LOUD!

Toss it. As has been said, there's no way to disinfect it and you risk another UTI. Thus why jelly is bad.

You could use a condom on it every time, but that might be a hassle. I'd toss it and try a vibe made of a safer material.

Nah, I don't think you need to toss it. Clean it well with toy cleaners. Also soap and water. I like to add a tiny tad of bleach to my water but not everybody is keen to this. Make sure to rinse well and let it air dry.

The problem is that, since jelly is so porous, bacteria can hide inside of it quite readily, and thus avoid death-by-cleaning. If there's a UTI involved, the risk is even higher.

Also don't know if bleach can be completely cleaned off of a porous toy, now that you mention it. Bleach where the sun don't shine... *shudder*

Okay, it's definately getting tossed. I figured it was a toss, but wanted to make sure! Glad it wasn't one that I totally fell in love with. Using it, I thought, "Dang, this this is so loud it's distracting". I felt like I was at a motorcycle convention, only without the power!

It was one I got in hopes of finding one I liked as much as this one:

I don't need lube (that sounds like TMI!)

I wondered if the vibe itself might have caused it. It was the first time I had used it, but had washed it prior to use.

I had a jelly toy before and I'm not allergic to jelly, but then again, jelly is pourous.

I was wondering because I had somewhat of a similar experience and I thought maybe it was the lube. I get UTI's all the time.

If I threw away everything I would never have anything down there.. LOL

In my case, I like to cover the jelly toys with toy covers, but it's really better to stick to silicone toys.
