In the past yes, weaker. Nowdays 2016. Just as strong. Seems a lot of the recent EF toys that have the pin inserts to charge ports are very strong. We got a Air Flirt and it is super strong. Same with the EF mini wand and the EF Black Magic.

Of course 4-5 yrs down the road they may not hold a charge as long. By then there will be more latest and greatest anyway.

I think they're as strong as battery powered ones, sometimes even stronger.

The rechargeable ones I have are all significantly stronger than any of my battery powered ones. Could be the quality of the toys too, but definitely no lack of power with the ones I have. Also much prefer not having to use disposable batteries to power a toy.

My rechargeable ones also last significantly longer than the non-rechargeable toys I have.

I'm all about rechargeables. I never mess around with battery operated.
I would imagine that a corded toy would have the capacity for far more power than battery operated or rechargeable, but I don't own any myself. (cords and wires are a HUGE turn off for me. Don't ask me why, I couldn't tell you.)

As a follow up, was extremely disappointed over the weekend as was trying to use the AAA powered remote for one of our rechargeable Lelo toys, only to discover they weren't working... thankfully the toy can be operated manually but far easier/more fun when the remote works. I really hope they'll redesign the remote so it is rechargeable too in the future. I'd pay for just a replacement rechargeable remote.

I use rechargeable AAA batteries in the remote but usually better not to need batteries beyond the built in ones.
