Toy storage hints, please?

Contributor: RedGlitter RedGlitter
HELLO!

I NEED a storage box for my seven toys (silicone, plastic, glass...)...and I really don't wanna spend that much, so I have decided to get some little, cute storage box or a kaboodle-type thing...I'm not really concerned about a lock...if you snoop through my closet, ya get what ya get!

I was going to put some sort of padding, or that non-skid liner in there, too.
Anyone have any ideas for storage??
I'm using a cute pink shoe box for right now, but...need more space!
Thank you!!

A backpack or large purse with multiple pockets might be a nice discrete way to keep your toys.

We have also used a plastic toolbox and a rolling suitcase. At the time these were both good solutions because we could put a small lock on them and they were both suitable for the size of our toy collection at the time. we currently use a large mechanics tool chest. It has proven to be the perfect solution for our needs.

I use a plastic craft box. It looks like this. I don't know how big your toys are, but if you have 7, a craft box might be too small. You might have to go for a jumbo-sized toolbox instead. I recommend going to walmart or something to see them in person to get a grasp on the size, even if you don't buy from there.

I also have each toy wrapped in scrap cloths. When I stop being lazy I'll sew real pouches.

Good idea, I'll keep that in mind! Maybe one day, my collection will grow enough to use a tool chest!

Right now I have my toys sorted in one of those small sets of plastic drawers on wheels, similar to this one. It tucks into my closet if I need to stash it away from prying eyes, but it's got plenty of room as my collection expands.

Good idea! But, unfortunately, until I can actually get some REAL room in my closet, probably won't fit!
Good idea, I'll remember that if (and WHEN!) MY collection gets bigger!

I keep most of mine in a train case.

I have this. It's so wonderful. Super spacious, and under $20! I'm actually in need of a second one now though...but for being so large and cheap I won't complain.

You could easily get some non-skid liner to put in it. It's spacious enough for a growing collection!

Edit: Oops! Didn't see that you don't have the room for that right now. Sorry!

I made ours out of cherry and walnut. You can purchase some storage solutions here, bu they all seem expensive and small and not built to last. Go to a craft store and see what they have. Also check ebay for storage solutions in the craft section. There are many different beautiful storage boxes and such there.

I got my boxes from Ikea. Just find any place that sells storage containers/boxes or like a furniture store. You could find nice wooden chests there.

Get a nice, used suitcase or overnight bag from a thrift shop or discount store. Those work great and make sure to keep your silicone items completely separate from the rest!!!
