I'm just curious how many people will use vibrators without actually turning them on (mainly pertains to insertable toys). If you do, how often?

NOTE: This is mainly asking about leaving it off for the whole session, rather than starting out with it off and then turning it on (this or any method like this counts as "turning the toy on" for this poll). Feel free to elaborate on any answer, though!

Most of the vibes I have are not thumpy enough but they have a good shape, so I still use them without turning them on. I do have a few that work very well and they are always on.

I don't remember using a vibe for an entire session w/o turning it on. That said, I almost always turn my vibes off and on during solo play.

Since vibrators I've owned in the past were dildo-shaped but thinner, I sometimes used them as insertion toys before a regular dildo.

I tend to use dildos way more than insertable vibrators, but when I do insert them I turn them on with the exception of vibrating anal plugs. I usually turn these on while inserting them, and then turn them off since the vibrations don't seem to do much for my butt other than help with relaxing the sphincters while inserting.

Internal vibration doesn't do a whole lot for me, although I enjoy it once in a while. I like vibrations for external stimulation.

I always turn it on. If I didn't want vibrations I would get a dildo

I like my Doc Johnson's glass vibe Beauty no matter whether it's on or off. The frosted glass feels so nice... the vibrations add to it, but I don't use them every time I use Beauty.

I actually don't always use vibrations, especially if I'm looking for a long session. Feels good man.

We usually use the Wahl for vibrations when I feel I need to come. We often do not turn on our vibrating phallic shaped toys. I prefer the vibrations from either wand vibrator-massagers and the spot vibrations from good quality pocket rockets and bullets to warm up.

So, a lot of the time, we use our insertable vibrators as dildos. I like the feel of nice sized penetrative toys during oral sex, wand vibrator play with My Man and when I'm alone. Sometimes they are turned on, but not all the time. If my husband is going down on me, I find the vibrations interrupt my ability to feel what he is doing.

We found there is a much better selection of sizes and shapes in penetrative vibrators than in dildos, and you have the option to turn them on if you want. So, you get the best of both worlds with a well shaped vibrator even if you don't turn it on all the time.

I agree! We use dildos/probes more often than vibrators for penetration. If we need vibration we reach for the Hitachi. The vibrations from the Hitachi transfer nicely through solid silicone!
