I would do so, if it was someone I knew!

No way. I like knowing I'm the first one to use a toy.

I like new toys especially for such intimate areas.

I'm still undecided... I've bought used cloth diapers and kids clothes...however, those have never been INSIDE another person... I like what Beck said about the obgyn. I think I could trust myself with sterilizing a second hand glass toy, but I don't know about others... I'm sticking with new for now, but keeping my mind open.

That is a good point of view, but my GYN uses all disposable equipment and doesn't open anything until she is in front of you. That is reassuring. But I do see your point

I would never do that, but if you're comfortable with it and sterilize it go for it.

I completely believe that toys made of silicone, glass or stainless steel can be sterilized, so it's completely a psychological thing for me--literally, because I have OCD. I just don't think I could ever get over the mental block of knowing someone else had used it.

I use points/GC's for all my purchases anyway, so the idea of buying something used and paying cash (even if less than retail) just doesn't make sense to me.

as long as it can be sterilized and doesn't have any defects/problems!

i've gotten a few really nice dildos secondhand and in trades. i may sell toys i review later if they just don't do it for me, as long as they're not jelly/rubber (i stay away from those anyhow though if i can, i'm allergic to jelly :/)

Actually it's a big ( sorta ) thing on Eden to trade gift cards for toys that the original owner didn't get off on. Helps me know that I can take risks and if I don't like the toys I can sell them. I have gotten more than a few toys worth approx $110-$140 for $50 gift cards

If I can boil it, it's fine. So only silicone dildos for me. Glass would be okay too.

I love the deals I've gotten. I bought a $140 Jopen for $35 and ended up trading it for a Form2 which is by far one of my top 5 toys of all time. Hey if anyone is interested there is a toy swap thread here
