How old is too old?

Contributor: levellc09 levellc09
What is your limit of age gaps you are willing to take on? I am ony two years older than my partner but she feels like she isn't on my page completely yet. I can only imagine the difference in larger age groups.

I have only dated older men and if I were to do it over again, I would go for a man closer to my age, a gap of 6 years or less (rather than 12 or 13.)

I don't go more than 5 to 6. Currently there is only 1 year difference

I actually do not care whatsoever. I am fairly young externally, but I could be with people who are much older physically than I am. I wouldn't mind at all.

I'd date someone up to 3 or 4 years older than me. I'd only go 1 year younger because I wouldn't want to date a teenager. My boyfriend is 2 years older and that seems to be a good age difference for me.

I am female and right now I'm not comfortable going over 10 years or under 5. I'd prefer 2-3 younger or up to 5-6 years older. Hopefully I'll never have to worry about that again because I'm engaged and my fiance is about 2 years and some odd months younger than I am.

If I were straight I think I would prefer a 4-5 year older man. They don't mature as fast as women.

I used to exclusively date 5+ years older, once I hit my 30s (and now 40s) the age range has definitely changed and I date both older and younger. Lately the men I've been seeing are from 3 to 9 years younger than me, and an amazing man 14 years older.

I find that most guys my own age aren't as mature as I am, but thats why I love my husband, he's so immature and funny/fun that he loosens me up LMAO. We're only a year apart. There are times that I wish he'd act older or his own age, but otherwise I prefer my own age

It dosen't matter as long as the maturity is there to deal with it. Usually legal age is just a beginning.

When I was younger, the gap was bigger, but I prefer the 2 year gap between my husband and myself now.

I think it just depends, anyone going after a young child is wrong. In the adolescent department, I know a lot of teens start being sexually active around 12 although I know a few people who started at 10. In my opinion, a person who is a legal adult really has no business dating someone under 18, although I know a few 18 y/o's who dated 16 but that's just maybe a 2 year gap. However, I had a class with a 16 year old dating a 21 year old, and in my opinion, no adult or person over the age of 20 has any business being with a person under the age of 18. Sorry, it's just... there is so much emotional growing a teen does between hitting puberty and hitting 18 years and even from 18 to 20. When you're 20+ years you should be fishing in your age group or older, people you can do things with without worrying about going to jail and such. However, after adulthood I really don't think age is a big deal, mostly it just depends on the person. Although being 20 I wouldn't date anyone younger than 19, just personal preference really but I tend to look for people the same age as me or older but only by a few years. Not trying to date 10+ years outta my age for practical reasons.

Depends on the situation but yeah 10 plus. My husband is 6 years older and I think it's perfect.

Definitely 10+ but it all depends on the situation. I think older makes it easier overall regarding legal issues but as long as both are around consent age, I don't think it's an issue.

I generally do not prefer gaps of more than 5 years, though I'm 8 older than my husband.

It all depends on how mature the people are. And sure that it is legal. I'm turning 20 and my boyfriend is now 32. But that doesnt matter to me.

I prefer older men. My husband is 7 years older than I am. With women, I'm usually more attracted when they're closer to my age.

I'm a male, and I voted 7-9 years, but I guess it might depend on where you yourself are in age, and in what direction the gap is. If you are a 21 year old male, and are dating a girl who is 7-9 years younger, that is probably illegal in many places. So I guess it just depends.
