Wasn't sure which "area" to put this in, but here goes. Be honest, at what age did you actually say to yourself "I am feeling old"?

Yes, I understand this area is all about "age not mattering", and maybe in a relationship it doesn't sometimes, but as an individual, we all get to some point, where that ache, pain or line, that wrinkle or lack of softness or flexibility, makes us say "oh my, I feel old" (If you haven't been there, just wait. If you are "positive" it will never happen to you, just wait). Anyway, I think being in a relationship with a younger person may make you hide that more, but actually be more aware of it.

So, honesty time. At what age did you look in the mirror, or look at your hand with a new age spot, or see that wrinkle by your eye, or feel the knee just a bit too stiff, and say (in your own head), "gee, I am feeling old"?

I just turned 32 but I am not as flexible or resilient as I was at 16. My knees, shoulders, ankles, and wrists pop at every opportunity. It's amusing but it's also an indicator of things to come. I'm trying to be aware of my calcium intake to prevent osteoporosis. We have a history of RA in our family, so yay! That's something to look forward to. When I do extreme things like hiking for the entire day, I feel it for awhile. My husband is quite a bit older than I am and his list is even longer. A lot of serious injuries to joints and bones. He hides it well but there are days where it slows him down.

It's a part of life. Not much to do about it other than deal.

(Oh and as for the subcategory, it would have been best placed under "social".)

I really started feeling and looking old this past year. I don't know what did it for the looks, but I think it looks like I have lost a lot of the elasticity to my skin. Things are starting to sag a little. And despite health issues over the years, I never felt old until this past year. I am so much more tired. I get tired of things physically, but also just don't have the energy to deal with thinking about them. - that's a big one. I wonder how much of this is depression and what is normal aging? Well, off to try sleeping again. I suppose the rampant insomnia is not helping my outlook.

I say this to myself every time I look at Facebook and realize that all of my friends are still in college.

Granted, I'm younger than most of them, but still.

You know what is funny. I am 42. I have no age spots yet thank god. My wife is in great shape, however like ever other women she feels that she has problems. You only look at as as you feel. I go to the gym 3-4 times a week. I take spin and have not issue keeping up with the youngins, I have even been asked my age, when i tell them they say I am lying. I say workout and take care of what you eat. Your body will do the rest.

I think one major part is having a good relationship with my wife, staying close is a major part I think of feeling young and staying young. Just my side of the coin. I am sure there are better examples out there..

15. That's when a lot of my chronic illnesses and ailments really kicked in. I have constant stomach problems, depression, and back and leg pain so my body and mind feel like they're falling apart. It's only gotten worse over the years. I have more trouble getting around and getting on with my life than my parents, and they're 50.

I haven't noticed any of the age spots or anything on the outside of my body yet. Suffering from RA since age of 25 and severe migraines for the last 3 years has taken a toll on my inside thought. Somedays I get out of bed and feel like an extremely old frail person, other days I'm ready to go and feel like I'm 20 again.
