I use this. I got it after I had problems with Mirena. I really like mine.

I just heard about recently. I'm going to ask my gyno about it after my time with Mirena is up... I am not looking forward to having another one of those put in me.

I just got on mine... A month ago? No issues so far, but I'm just stating my period now so we'll have to see if I bleed a lot more or anything.

I don't use birth control. I did when i was first married but they caused me to have headaches and that was on low dose pills.

I've never known someone who used it. Do people here recommend it?

I used to have it. It was not good for me at all. I had it for about 9 months and I bled constantly. Not the light bleeding that they say might happen either, it was like a full blown period for 9 months. It also made me quite moody and I cried almost every day.

I wanted it out sooner, but I kept being told that the bleeding would get lighter and eventually go away and to just keep waiting. I wish I'd gotten it out right away though.

I get mine out in september. I have only had spotting 2x on it and no other bleeding. It works wonders for me and has no side effects that I can tell. It is amazing, I am thinking about getting another one put in when I get this one out. Plus, it makes for a cool party trick to make people feel my arm and guess what it is

So glad I happened across this! I have been on Depo Provera for around 7-8 years now due to endometriosis. It stops my cycle therefore keeping me from being totally immobile for 2 weeks out of each month. It also helps slow down endometrial growth keeping things under control a bit. It's been so helpful, but last Sept. I had a tooth break. I've NEVER had big work done on my teeth. They've always been really healthy. I had a silver cap thingy as a kid and a quadhelix for my cross bite, but overall great teeth. I was shocked when it suddenly broke. It didn't hurt so I left it since I didn't have insurance. It was also a wisdom tooth so I thought it may not be a huge deal and that other teeth may be fine. WRONG! One month later (oct) a premolar broke on my top row! Then I started worrying that depo was the cause. I'm afraid that it's weakened by bones and I only turned 22 last month! So since November I've been to 3 dentist. Last month my dentist pulled my wisdom and started my root canal, Yesterday he done more work on my root canal and I still have to go back for the crown on the root canal! It is hell and I noticed ANOTHER tooth that's gotten a cavity and a small hole. I got paranoid and started looking into other options. I looked into the implanon, but am so unsure!

After reading the good responses about it here though, I will continue looking into it. I just don't want to lose my health to depo. In the beginning me and my GYN decided that the benefits outweighed the risks in my case, but I'm only 22 and should not have fragile bones. I'd really like to know more about implanon from those who have it. Any side effects that you guys have noticed?

Never used it, but I've been leaning towards getting one for after I have the baby, (we definitely want more kids, just not until we actually have the space for them).

I'm too naturally scatterbrained to rely on something I have to constantly take/change, so pills, patches, and rings are a no-go. At first I was thinking about a Mirena or other IUD, but I've known too many people who have had bad experiences with them (plus, I think I'd freak out if it got dislodged or my husband could feel it).

I think this may have just sold me on it!

LOL just searched to see if anyone has used it, I plan on getting one on the 30th. I'm 99.9% sure we're done with kids (Logically) but emotionally I haven't accepted it yet so I don't want something permanent just yet.

Insertion and removal kinda scare me though

I have Implanon, but it's due to be removed (the 3 years will be up) next spring. It took a month to adapt (during which time, I was moody with increased break-outs), but after that, everything was smooth sailing.

I would be interested in trying this, but I'm afraid I'll drop the money, get it done and then end up having some crazy mood swings and having to pay MORE to have it removed.
