Condom issue..

Contributor: Huzzah Huzzah
Hello all,
This is my first time posting, so sorry if I'm a little scattered.

My boyfriend and I have been exploring the larger sized condoms, because after a few packs of regular ones and him not being able to really feel anything because they were too tight, he finally agreed that we needed to buy a larger size.

We've tried a few different kinds so far but we've been pretty unsatisfied with all of them. We keep having issues with breakage. We're using plenty of waterbased lube (I've double checked to make sure it was waterbased) and we're pinching the tip when he puts them on to get the air out of them, but we're still breaking them.

We tried Lifestyles Kyngs and we liked the way those felt when they didn't break, but out of the 12 we had, 6 of them broke. We also tried Trojan Magnums regular and thin and about 3/4 of those broke.. and we tried Trojan Magnum Twisted, only one of those broke but I enjoyed them and he didn't.

If there any advise on what we can do or use to make this not happen anymore? It's getting really frustrating.

I don't know much about condoms, but them breaking so much is... odd. Have you tried lubing him up, then putting the condom on, and then lubing up the outside? I would think it would reduce friction.

Also, isn't silicone based lube okay with latex condoms? I thought most used silicone....

*is very confused*

I thought the same thing about lubing him up and putting the condom on but I read the insert and it seemed like they were saying not to have any kind of lubrication in there aside from what they have on the condom. I'll probably have him try it anyway.. but the insert was definitely saying to use a waterbased lube.

I'm very confused too.

I HATE condoms. They break. They fall off. They give me yeast infections. They smell like crap. I could go on. I have heard good things about Kimonos from the larger guys though.

(Maybe this is why I am avoiding sex)... hmm

I always put a drop or two of lube inside. This helps keep them from breaking and provides more "feel" for me. I believe that most silicone lube is safe for condoms, just read the label of the lube. It should tell you.

We decided I'm just going back onto birth control and we're going to nix the condoms. We have been trying putting a couple of drops of lube inside and none have broken since. Thanks for the advice!
