Flavored condoms

Contributor: nova2014 nova2014
So I wanted to give the guy oral and I figured it wouldn't taste as latex-y if I gave him oral while he wore a flavored condom but is the flavored condom still safe for intercourse? I heard that it can lead to yeast infections? Does anyone have any advice?

Depending on how sensitive you are to those things, it can lead to an infection but above and beyond everything else flavored condoms are novelty condoms and because most* of them are dyed there is a greater risk of the condom breaking or having minute holes in them which can spread infections and increase the risk of accidental pregnancy.

I see a number of posts by you on this topic and it seems that you are truly concerned with your safety and this is a great thing. I would like to caution you to remember one thing if nothing else:

No condom can prevent the spread of HPV. It is spread through skin to skin contact and unless you wrap the entire person in a body-sized condom if they are infected with any strain of HPV (which a significant number of adults are) then there is a significant risk of you catching it as well. If you haven't already looked into it, I suggest talking to a doctor about the Guardasil vaccine.
