My boyfriend and I have only ever had sex with eachother and have never been tested for STIs. I honestly think the risk is so low it's not worth bothering with.

I don't believe them but I've known some people who have. and most recently, I've heard someone say "if they look clean the way they live, they are clean" - and from a person old enough to know better than to believe this!!! -- unbelievable!!!

Learning that some STI/STDs have no symptoms at all really freaked me out. Obviously you can't see HIV, but I thought everything else would have some sort of symptom. Not so!

None. That's what a good school sexual education does.

Many of us have heard these saying before and may have even believed them before we knew better. In fact, some people still believe these folk wisdoms even though all of the above are false.

Virgins are always clean.
You can be born with ... more
"...wearing pants that are too tight can cause vaginosis..."

Since when is bacterial vaginosis an STI?

None of the above. Trust no bitch and you can be born with STDs if your mother has them, you can get certain ones that affect the eyes (do not remember) if someone else also has the ocular form of it and you share mascara.
