Mine didn't break until I lost my virginity. It was so embarrassing, but thankfully he was totally nice about it.

I was molested when I was three so I dunno if I lost it then or it broke from athletic activity when I was older. I don't remember ever having had that occur.

I actually didnt break mine for two years after becoming sexually active. I had been with two guys before it broke. The third guy who I was engaged to was who it was with. The doctor said it must have just not have been broke during intercourse with the other guys. And the fact that we had been having rougher sex probably did it. It scared me because I had thought it already broke. It scared me so much I went to the Dr that next morning. I was shocked to find it wasNT already broke

I have no clue when mine broke. I didn't bleed the first time i had sex, and it wasn't very painful either.

Im freakin out reading all these stories some people have crazy ways of breaking it and the skin hanging down? I dont know anything about that Im pretty sure mine broke during my first time having sex but there wasnt alot of blood and the only pain was the size of his penis but i feel horrible for some of you guys!

Not a clue. I don't have any reason to believe it broke- no pain that I can remember, but ever since I've been aware of my body, I've never experienced anything like a hymen. I'm actually still just slightly fuzzy on the specifics of the hymen, really!

Many women don't have a hymen the way we are told about it. The hymen is actually very elastic and it can be many shapes, not necessarily a solid film. Often times it stays entirely intact and is just pushed aside during sex. This is the case for me, I never had my hymen break and bleed.

I honestly don't have any idea when it broke. It was gone before I even started using tampons at 12. I was an active kid and the hymen tends to be pretty thin so it breaks fairly easily with physical activity. I know its broken because even now the remnants of it are still there but I don't have any memory of breaking it.

Statistically its really really rare for the hymen to cause a lot of pain during sex. Most pain during first intercourse is due to clenching your muscles because you are nervous and expect it to hurt (because everyone tells you sex hurts the first time and it really shouldn't if you are warmed up and have used lubed and had 2-3 fingers inside the vagina already).

I honestly have no idea. I don't think I ever had one. If I did it was broken before age 13 by some sort of non-sexual non-injurious activity and it didn't bleed.

Oh, man, this topic makes me so sad. There is so much misinformation about the hymen, cherries popping, breaking, etc.

Please, please watch this video to get it al straightened out.

If you don't want to watch the video, let me briefly explain it:
-the hymen does not cover the entirety of the vaginal opening.
-the hymen does not pop or break, as it is a very thin membrane that does not cover the entirety of the vaginal opening.
-if bleeding occurs during your first time having intercourse, or after a serious fall or something, your hymen has torn a little bit. This is where the blood is from - it is not popped or broken, just stretched without lubrication and warming up.
-a hymen that fully covers the vagina is a very rare medical condition and a doctor will have to cut it to fix it.

wow, thank you so much for sharing! i really had no idea about all this. i'd still like to read more because it's really the first time i'm ever hearing contradiction of the existence of the hymen, but that was a lovely video. and that girl cracks my shit up.

I was 11 and I did it myself while masturbating. And it was kind of a relief because I wasn't so scared for sex later in life

At 15 when I lost my virginity. And it hurt. Oh did it hurt. It felt akin to someone stretching one side of my mouth until it ripped. My boyfriend wanted to stop, but it hurt so badly that I told him that if he didn't go through with it I would probably never let him touch me again.
