In a world where topics that were once considered to be unmentionable are now openly discussed I find it somewhat strange that periods are a subject that are still claoked in taboo and euphemised to no end. Something which to me seems quite ridiculous as it's such a natural thing that with the right perspective can be viewed as beautiful rather than a curse.

I'm hosting a mini blog carnival / feature this month on all things periods. From the history of menstrual products to today's new, greener options, personal anecdotes, product reviews and of course giveaways too.

I'm looking for people who are interested in writing or contributing something on the subject of periods for this feature and thought Eden might be a good place to find people open minded enough to want to participate. you can read my initial post here -> link

You can write about anything you likeregarding the topic from why you choose the products you use to personal anecdotes and informational posts. Pretty much anything goes as long as its related back to the main topic.

Theres also some great prizes that everyone who contributes will receive multiple bonus entries into.

This is a really neat idea! I may participate, should I find the time!

Actually, I am so open about periods, I think I have creeped a few men out on the subject. I'm so grateful my guy isn't one of them!

No solid deadline at the moment - It was the end of the month but I've been so ill I haven't had a chance to write as much as I had planned so it will likely run into the first week of November

That's a great idea! I agree with much of what you said about periods. Maybe I'll participate too, after all, I'll be getting my period in about 2 weeks, why not write about it while it's happening! lol

I really look forward to it. I've just switched over to a menstrual cup and am absolutely loving it. I can't ever imagine wanting to go back. But sadly a lot of women see reusable products as yucky or messy so Im hoping to do my bit to change those attitudes
